Earlier this month, the leader of the Air Force Recruiting Service was seeing warning lights flashing for the Air and Space Forces’ 2022 goals.
In an email to the command, he is seeing fewer leads on possible new recruits...
Maj. Gen. Edward Thomas, Jr., commander of the Air Force Recruiting Service, told Federal News Network. “The aggregate effect of these two years of COVID is driving downward trends in our pool of qualified applicants.”
So far, in the first fiscal quarter of 2022, the Air Force is meeting expectations. The service wanted to recruit 6,030 members to the active duty force; it got 6,031. That tracks slightly below the numbers from previous years. In all of 2021, the Air Force recruited 27,709 people, 37 more than its goal. In 2020, the service brought in more than 150 more active duty members than it planned.
“Those who are on contract now, we have those secured all the way through the second quarter of this fiscal year. That takes us all the way through March,” said Col. Jason Scott, chief of the operations division at Air Force Recruiting Service.
Scott said the qualified and waiting list is secure until about halfway through May and then things get a little hairy.
“When we look at our qualified and waiting, and we look at the data and the numbers, typically, we would like it to be somewhere around 5,000,” Scott said. “We’re a little less than half of that; it’s just over 2,200 right now.”
There are some issues in the reserve and Air National Guard as well. The Air Force did not hit its goals for the first quarter of 2022 for either of those components. The service met nearly 94% of its reserve goal and about 78.5% of its Air Guard goal...

The vax might certainly be a part of the reasons the military like the Air Force can’t meet their recruitment goals. It has also been said that large swaths of young people are too unhealthy and too heavy and many have had issues with the law and with drugs or are on psychotropics for ADD or Depression. Also, even those who could qualify have families that don’t want them in the military under Biden, and even such kids will not want to join. If all things else were “peachy keen”, would you still want your kids soldiering under Biden in today’s “woke military” where the comforts of Christianity were increasingly under attack?
A perfect storm is being set up for imposition of a draft that will face the mother of all resistance movements, especially if women are forced to be a part of it.
Don’t join the military, folks. Let leftist democrats join so they can die instead in needless wars.
I have said for years that you will never see another military draft in the U.S. in your lifetime.
I think there are several parts to this...in play.
Schooling for past two years? Crappy, and if you did the standard ASVAB today, I would suggest a 10-to-20 percent decline in average test scores.
The benefits package that a lot of us ‘enjoyed’ from the late 70s to late 90s? Gone.
Leadership spiraling and giving people a negative view of the military? That’s probably another problem.
They will eventually lessen the test scores...allow in people with attitude problems and past drug use, and then settle for a rough five year period.
It’s not only the vaxx. If you’re a patriot, you’re not welcome. Young men who wanted to join for the right reason are smart enough to realize they’re not welcome and would eventually be hounded out of the military. Have you seen military recruiting ads lately? I would assume the Air Force is getting all the overweight women of color who want to help out during floods and scamdemics that they’re advertising for.

Oh I would put it past these clowns to try it despite the “anti-liberlism” of it and despite the pacifist leftist groups. They will need a military to counter large groups of pissed off Americans!

The "vaccine" mandates and cowardly leadership in the DoD and all the service branches for illegally mandating this poison be injected into their own people has destroyed my confidence and enthusiasm toward these once great and proud institutions. The entire shameful episode is a disaster for everyone concerned who cares about America and our Constitution.
I am ashamed of what is going on and highly distressed for our future given the current stupid and treacherous direction our military has taken. They are destroying their own people and military effectiveness in plain sight with this illegality.
It is as if Benedict Arnold had assumed command of the Continental Army in 1781 and surrendered it to Cornwallis without a fight.
The upper echelon USAF officers have gone woke and the enlisted don’t want any part of the USAF and are telling young ones to avoid the service with the attitude that is currently being promoted. My SIL is an E-6 and he and many of his colleagues are jumping like rats of a sinking ship.
