Biden is now 'planning to deploy just 1,000 troops to Eastern Europe' after putting 8,500 on standby: President is trying to form 'coalition of the willing' with NATO allies to round on Putin as he threatens to invade Ukraine

Joe Biden is planning to deploy 1,000 troops to Eastern Europe to defend it against Russian aggression alongside several Nato allies, a new report claimed on Wednesday.

It comes a day after he put 8,500 U.S. soldiers on alert to go to the region where Putin is threatening to invade Ukraine.

The president is trying to patch together a ‘coalition of the willing’ of NATO members who would each deploy 1,000 troops, according to CNN.

However, some countries are unwilling to take action and Biden is reserving the right to act bilaterally with just the U.S. and a 'handful' of other countries including the U.K.

Damn. He’s putting a speedbump in front of the Russians.

I’m still wondering if this whole thing isn’t being overhyped to give Biden a fake “win” when nothing happens. The Ukraine president is saying that nothing significant has really changed in recent weeks.

Smoke and mirrors. Nothing the U.S. is doing, whether it’s 1,000 or 8,500 troops represents any material deterrent with 100,000 plus Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders, plus thousands of pieces of Russia’s best military hardware.

Russia-China is keeping Biden diverted and off balance while China completes its Taiwan invasion plans, and executes them after the winter Olympics, after which there will be no Russian invasion of Ukraine, just Russian-China business and military deals.

The inept Biden admin is being played.

Biden has failed here - NATO has already fractured and many of the states in the pact won’t help because they fear retribution from Russia because Biden won’t back them up.

Russia and Germany are the ones making all of the decisions right now on how this will play out. Biden is just a spectator.

This is all political theater. There is an U. S. Army airborne brigade based in Italy and deployable any time. Brandon is pimping out the Ukrainians and tanking their economy to boost his poll numbers.

Ukraine will go down the memory hole now that there is a race baitable SCOTUS vacancy. Dems will want to focus on a “win” there for the midterms.

I hate to admit it but employing a ‘coalition of the willing’ makes a lot of sense. And if Europeans don’t care enough about their own backyard, why would we backfill for their unwillingness?

The US troops will lecture the Russians on how their actions are bad for climate change and the Russians will call US troops by the wrong pronouns.

I agree. The political focus will magically shift to SCOTUS now. Dems always prefer domestic issues they can use to attack Republicans to foreign policy, anyway.

Russia is going into Ukraine in 2 weeks and Biden knows he can’t stop it. That’s why the Supreme Court announcement happened today.

LOL

While some oligarchs in Ukraine sell the U.S. equipment on the black market, to Russia.
