If Biden picks Hillary, he is a much bigger idiot than I even thought.

Biden: "Hillary? Harris? What kind of fool do you think I am?"

Reporter: "I'm not sure. What are my choices.?"

I ask some pretty dumb questions some times but does it really make sense to take a Vice President with very high negatives and nominate her for arguably an even higher job just to get her out of the way for the 2024 race? I mean, won’t most voters figure this out and hold it against Bid*n when it’s time to cast their vote?

(How stupid of me. Dems don’t need real voters now. They can just make up however many they need.)

And, further, wouldn’t putting Hillary on the ticket be like volunteering to be Epsteined?

Also, does Harris actually qualify as a “Black woman” if her mother was an Indian and her father a Jamaican? I see Wikipedia classifies her as “African-American” when, in fact, there’s no African in her and her only claim to being “American” is a U.S. birthplace.

Jonathan Turley Should be the pick...Biden will of course place an anti Constitutionalist, like himself on the Supreme Court...Turley is a Constitutional Scholar, a giant among lawyers. BUT non-ethical President Biden will do the politically correct thing and put another woman of color up for his choice.

Jonathan Turley would lend the Robert's court a certain amount of erudition to what should be IMHO, the Thomas Court...a court that follows the dictates of our US Constitution and law and order...it is far too political under Roberts.

If they jumped the gun on Breyer’s announcement, maybe he will stay to spite them.

Or maybe they will activate Operation Pelican Brief.

Her Dad is a Jamaican mulatto - comes from a well-off family there, but that’s how it was and is in Jamaica. Check out his picture. So there is black, but not US black.

Murkowski would vote for her; probably Collins, too.

I don’t think it would be about 2024. Its a much more immediate problem than that.

They need to get rid of Biden ASAP. They can’t, because then they would have President Harris, who is going to be even worse for their political prospects, so ...

- they need to get rid of Harris first.
- then they need to get Biden to appoint someone more...plausible.
- Biden then resigns.

All this needs to happen before November.

When did everyone start thinking that Biden and Hillary are friends?

He hates her.

She could absolutely vote for herself. She would have to.

Agree, But they dig deeper into the past at this level. She better hope she's clean.

Biden has to hope his luck holds out. He declared Obama was somehow an acceptable black:

"Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”"June 27, 2019.

Could he somehow, improbably, against the odds find another such person for the court? Another storybook?

It will take 60 senators to appoint a new VP from what I’ve heard

It only takes a majority of Senators plus a majority of House members to confirm a new V.P. Since the Constitution specifically states a majority, I doubt that any super majority would be required.

Kamala was, briefly a Senator, so that may sway some Senators to approving her appointment to SCOTUS in spite of the fact that she is really a legal lightweight. On the other hand her deep unpopularity might give Senators, especially those up for reelection some pause to giving her lifetime appointment.

Republicans would be foolish to ratify any replacement VP if Kam leaves for any reason before this year’s elections. Why give the dems a tie-breaking vote?

All this needs to happen before November.

The timing is actually good for the Democrats.

If they can replace Biden and Harris by the mid-terms, it throws the whole 2022 election into a tailspin. The 30% approval rating would be gone, and assuming they picked the right person, the favorable could be well over 50%. Fortunately, it's the Democrats. And they will screw it up.

She could absolutely vote for herself. She would have to.

I'd be surprised if that were allowed, but she'll never be the nominee so it's moot.
