Mitch McConnell Braces to Keep Leadership Role After Midterms
Breitbart News ^ | 1/25/2022 | Wendell Husebo

While at least two GOP Senate candidates have publicly stated they will oppose McConnell’s leadership bid in the new Congress, McConnell told CNN on Tuesday he will wait to “see what happens” after the midterms before crowning himself leader.

Missouri candidate Eric Greitens and Trump-backed Alaskan candidate Kelly Tshibaka have both declared they would not support McConnell for GOP leader if they win in November.

Though McConnell has not yet actively fought Greitens with PAC money, he was vocal about his support for Tshibaka’s opponent, establishment Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).

Murkowski voted to impeach Donald Trump and enabled Biden’s radical agenda multiple times with McConnell in 2021.

“We’re going to be all in Alaska helping Lisa, and that’s one place where the former President and I have a disagreement,” he told CNN about supporting Murkowski with large PAC donations.

“All I’ll say about Missouri at this point is we’re keeping our eye on it,” McConnell added. “Missouri is potentially challenging depending on the outcome in the primary.”

Not many America First GOP Senate candidates have said outright they’d vote against McConnell, perhaps hoping to avoid McConnell’s PAC opposition in a Republican primary.

But other Republicans have voiced frustration that during McConnell’s tenure as leader, the nation has not fared well.

Throughout McConnell’s leadership, the national debt has grown nearly by $20 billion, illegal immigration has continued, and real wages for American workers have remained stagnant since the 1970s. Obamacare was enacted in 2010.

Big banks were bailed out in 2008, and social media companies have silenced individuals without repercussions. Dr. Anthony Fauci has not been held accountable for allegedly lying twice to Congress.

Like when he was fighting Trump on $2,000 checks on the eve of the Election, then spending Trillions with Biden - Trillions.

We will not get new leadership by re-electing Mitch’s bitches.

Crapo, Grassley, Hoeven, Lankford, Lee, Moran, Murkowsky, Rubio, Scott, Thune and Young all need to be primaried in 2022, even if Trump endorses them.

We will never MAGA by re-electing Assistant Democrats.

The only GOP Senators deserving re-election are Johnson, Kennedy and Paul.

Funny- the GOP called me today to ask for $$$. I took the call. I told them i am not a Republican rather i am a conservative and a Trumplican. I informed them i have ZERO intention of giving them a single cent of my money as long as people like liz cheney or B!tch McConnell represent the party.

I informed them i will send money directly to the candidates who represent me like Donald Trump, Majorie Taylor-Greene and Thomas Massie.

“Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the White House “is moving in the right direction” in considering a deployment of troops to Eastern Europe amid concerns Russia is on the cusp of invading Ukraine.” Do we need this backstabbing war monger in Republican Leadership. I think not.

Okay, controversy.

McConnell did something somewhat unprecedented and solely because of his courage, Merrick Garland is AG instead of a Supreme Court Justice.

He is hardcore establishment because his entire career has been focused on Republican victories. He hasn’t seemed to care much what “Republican” would mean. He only cared about victories.

He’s an old man. He is not going to be in the Senate much longer. I would not expect him to run again.

The hatred here on FR directed at him is likely a bit extreme. It ignores his worldview of Republican victory and only Republican victory. He perceives any departure from the middle as lowering the chance of victory and so he opposes it.

But his time is indeed done.

There are risks in this. You can boot him out the door and throw rocks at him as he leaves, or you can show him the exit and thank him for his service.

The difference between those two approaches is this:

Kentucky has a Dem governor. You pelt him with rocks when he’s eliminated from the leadership and he may resign outright, and then the governor appoints a Dem to that seat.
And the leadership maybe then be Minority Leader, not Majority Leader.

Keeping Garland off the court was a good thing.

On balance the longer he and his bitches remain, the more they assist the Democrats.
We cannot keep re-electing Assistant Democrats.

Who is going to challenge McConnell and actually function effectively as Senate GOP leader?

The majority/minority leaders in the U.S. Senate aren't kings. They have a nearly impossible job to manage a legislative agenda. The U.S. senators they "lead" don't answer to the Senate leadership. They answer to their own constituents.

The hatred of this pathetic backstabbing SOB is more than justified!
He is a uniparty hack who has made quite a nice living fleecing votes from hard working Americans while delivering little to nothing on the slow boil to socialism!

“Throughout McConnell’s leadership, the national debt has grown nearly by $20 billion...”

“I think they mean $20 trillion.”

Way to go Kentucky Republicans. You are directly responsible for this man’s actions.

All these Politicians realized that the Media will cover for them if they stand with the Mob and Deep State largesse.

There’s no accountability whatsoever, at any point. The Networks can simply refuse to run Ads and the Media lies to the Peeps.

Rinse and repeat.
