I can’t speak for other leftist states, but Massachusetts and Connecticut do not have state wide mandates, but permit local towns and cities to implement one on their own. I have yet to have an issue in any of the towns with mandates walking into stores without one. As a matter of fact, many stores never actually posted signage when one most recent round went to affect a few weeks ago.

I understand the sentiment, that we can get propaganda anywhere.

But a vital element of FR, is the knowledge feedback loop.

I'll admit, I learn a LOT from the comments...possibly more than from stories in many cases.

The other benefit of FR, is that it's an excellent training camp/demolition derby for arguments and ideas. Unless you're perfect, ideas can benefit from refinement, even if it is more like the bumper cars than debate club.

In that spirit, it seems to me that Fauci picks his words and syntax in a manner to maximize statist adulation AND Deplorable anger. It's one thing to play to your base...it's a gift to simultaneouely cheese off the opposition.

Trump is a MASTER at maximizing this dual objective function. Fauci is a hack but he knows how to get under our skin.

The BEST way to deal with this kind of putz, is to ridicule him...mockery. Fauci fancies himself a serious medical professional...he's the Face of Covid. So, a reply like "Did you reach this conclusion by killling more dogs or listening to your boss?" Or something better (I'm not a comedian, Jim).
