Ireland is set to scrap almost all its COVID-19 restrictions after coming though the storm of the Omicron variant that led to a massive surge in infections, Prime Minister Micheal Martin says.
Ireland had the second highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Europe just last week but also one of the continent's highest uptake of booster vaccines, which has helped keep the number of seriously ill people well below the previous peak.

Nothing arbitrary or random about that, eh? Why the end of February? And who believes they won’t come up with another scariant by then?
I predict this will be called all over Europe by 2/1 - BEFORE the Austrian mandate, Covid will be canceled.

Sadly, you're right. Just a few years ago, there was a healthy competition between the four Southern Hemisphere nations of South Africa, Australia, Argentina, and New Zealand PLUS Japan. When or if that competition will ever resume is anyone's guess. I hope that by the time (2023) the French host the Rugby World Cup, the fans in the stands will be mask-free, and the rugby-playing nations of the world will be "allowed" to send their best athletes to the games.
I am old enough to remember when the government pulled most Covid regulations, only to bring them back just weeks or months later. This happened like just 7 or 8 months go! Then came Delta. So is THIS TIME different? Will we just be on the same merry-go-round with the next variant?
Lamont in CT announced he will drop the state employee and teacher/child care employee jab or test mandate. Baker in MA, a RINO, said it is wrong to make jabbed college students still wear masks at all times as that isn’t March 2020.
Baker well knows masks were nearly impossible to find in MA back in March 2020..

Hubby and I had Omicron between Christmas and New Year’s Day. For us, it was a NothingBurger... Pretty much like the common cold.
Stupid is a terminal illness. It can’t be cured.
I don’t think it was the boosters; a bunch of people got omicron and got better and the resulting immunities are nuking the other extant but more dangerous strains as well. JMO!
