Netflix dashed hopes for a quick rebound after forecasting weak first-quarter subscriber growth on Thursday, sending shares sinking nearly 20 percent and wiping away most of its remaining pandemic-fueled gains from 2020, just a week after raising prices by up to $2 a month.
The streaming platform projected it would add 2.5 million customers for the first quarter of 2022 - January through March - less than half of the 5.9 million analysts had initially forecast.
Netflix tempered its growth expectations, citing the late arrival of anticipated content, such as the second season of Bridgerton, and the film The Adam Project.

With their latest price increase I’m done. Been a subscriber since before they even had streaming… but price is now too high to justify and lots more free abs cheaper options and their “exclusive” productions I generally don’t watch
Another bomb was “The power of the dog” I think the original title might have been “Cowboy in the closet”.
Because like cable, people only consume 2% of the content. So it's sensible to do as you suggest, jump around every 3 months and binge the one or two shows you want to watch.
I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m tired of seeing the same Indian movies in Telegu, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and all the others in dumb Bollywood movies. They’ve had so much success with them, they’ve gone to Egyptian, Turkish, Serbian and a host of others - all of them trashing up the New Release section.
Streaming service is just a euphemism for cable company.
As for Disney, Paramount, Discovery...
We don’t use them, either.
We don’t want their content.
So, in our house, it has to be content we want. And, as far as we’re concerned, there’s darn little of that to be had. New content anyway.
I’ve seen some excellent foreign content.
In fact, most of the new stuff we’ve seen lately has been foreign content.
I am like you as well.
More queer programming and higher prices prompted me to dump the chumps
“Is that why you use Verizon?”
Now I am going to admit that you have a very very good point there. In the case of me using Verizon it is indeed hypocritical of me to a point. It is one of the few situations where I have absolutely no other options available. Where I live, it is the only way I can get internet period. So unlike those who have options such as the netflix situation, or other forms of access to the net available, my option to find an alternative service is absolutely not there. Trust me, I absolutely hate it. But for me it means internet, or no internet period. They got me over a barrel with this situation because of where I located. And if I had options I would have changed long ago. But with everything else “woke” in our lives we have indeed made the sacrifices and do live without them.
So my options are to pack up and move to the city where there are other options available, or completely do without internet at all. Even I would not suggest this extreme of a sacrifice to anyone. But there are so many that can be made that are minor in comparison because other options are indeed available to them.
I’m sorry, but all those Indian movies aren’t excellent foreign content in my book.
Wokeness and lack of real creativity is very boring.
I believe people are just bored with it all. Trying to make everyone the same is a bore.
I’m delighted that the Woke Network, NetFlix, is losing money. This group that hired Obama just to give him money for nothing, and is producing a ‘documentary’ about how January 6th was worse than 9/11, can suck it.
I can list on one hand, maybe two, the content I have enjoyed on any of these services. Showtime for Homeland Peacock to watch old seasons of Yellowstone, which are now all on Paramount. PGA Tour Live to get 4 more hours of the early rounds, which seems to now be also available on ESPN+ which I won't get. HULU - for the cost still seems worth it Aamazon Prime, part of Amazon Prime, which had 2-3 good shows like Miss Maisel and Bosch.
Putting her on their board was my first and last straw.
“This group that hired Obama just to give him money for nothing”
....did Obama also get his chic....er roosters for free?
I cancelled after they wen woke.
Thee is too much FREE content online to pay for any service anymore. Especially a service that hates you.
Tangent: Apple TV is the best streaming service. I have enjoyed pretty much everything I have seen on there. Even the woke interwoven into the content, pretty much obligatory, doesn’t detract from the overall quality of the programming. The have gays they have lesbians they have a boy kid that wants to be a girl. Still the plots and acting are quite good. Servant, Foundation, See, Mosquito Coast. Quite good.
I guess viewers didn’t want to support kiddie porn.
