It’s a day since President Joe Biden’s press conference marking the first anniversary of his swearing-in, and I remain in the same state of horrified and stunned disbelief I experienced while watching it.
I’ve always wondered what it would be like to see the behavior of an actual human being, as opposed to a character in a spy movie, who’d been given a shot of sodium pentothal. That’s what Biden was like at the press conference. Everything he said he probably shouldn’t have said, but he just couldn’t help himself. It was his Internal Monologue Made Exterior, and it was terrifying.
He said, look, it’s fine, only 5% of America’s schools are closed (then he said it was 2%). Five percent of America’s 130,000 schools equals . . . 6,500 closed schools. That’s OK?
He said store inventories are at 89%, which, he said, is only a few points lower than before the pandemic.
Really? Stores are missing one-tenth of the goods they usually sell, and that’s fine?
He said, in effect, that Americans should expect inflation to continue to rise due to skyrocketing oil prices. “It’s going to be hard,” he said. “It’s going to be very hard.”
And hamburgers are more expensive also. Why? “The Big Four are controlling it all.” Say what now? The Big Who? I know, I know. He’s claiming there’s a food cartel that’s gouging America’s hamburger-eaters. Which would explain why the cost of everything else in America is rising at the same time, and inflation is at the highest level we’ve seen in four decades.

Internal monologue? Does a potato even have an internal monologue?
He’s a Never Trumper.
The free world is now led by a man who creates a national security crisis every time he speaks in public.
That comment made me remember one of the times Rush Limbaugh allowed himself to muse about philosophical matters on his radio show.
He somehow got off on a riff about what it means to know you are alive, and he said "I mean, think about existence from the point of view of an ant. If someone steps on you, do you think 'woops, here comes that giant shoe from the sky, I guess it's time for me to go!'"
Not terrifying to anyone thar has been paying attention.
The worst part of f Joe’s performance was how he shifts blame to Trump for his various disasters. He blamed Trump for the A-stan debacle because of his May deadline, He blamed Trump for the border invasion even after Trump cut the flow to a trickle. He blamed Trump for inflation even though there was very low inflation rate when f Joe stole the office. F Joe is a despicable liar.
To the WH ignoramus, hamburgers are more expensive b/c “The Big Four are controlling it all.”
He stupidly claims there’s a food cartel gouging America’s hamburger-eaters.
Which, of course, would explain why the cost of everything else in America is rising
at the same time, and inflation is at the highest level we’ve seen in four decades.
Being a mediocre politician from the nothing state of Delaware, Biden has no recourse other than to Blame Trump and everybody else.
Yup!
I was GOBSMACKED when I heard Xiden say that.
For once, he was wasn’t feeding us a lie!
LOL, good imagery.
His infamous Atlanta speech revealed Biden’s intense dislike for Americans.......
and his displeasure at having created a “perfect government” for such horrible people.
Biden became unhinged in Georgia especially b/c Stacey Abrams was not there to hold his hand .
Biden made one startling declaration after another.
He reviled Americans who disagrees with him about how he has “perfectly” ensured the integrity of the American electoral process.
To somebody as “perfect” as Biden, we are nothing but modern-day Confederates,
racist traitors, closeted supporters of slave-holding president Jefferson DAvis.
I think the author captures it well. Of course the “incursion” line is true, but never ever to be spoken aloud.
When he told the reporters in the room that he was willing to stick around for a while, and keep the press conference going, I could almost hear his aides in the back screaming “NOOOOOOOOO!!!”
I didn’t see the conference but I read in the RAT “media” that Brandon gave a “fiery speech.” What happened? Did his pants catch on fire? LET’S GO BRANDON!
And wouldn't you know James Rosen got a turn and the cognitive decline question was finally asked. It was an amazing sequence.
