New state data show 51 percent of COVID hospitalizations in Massachusetts on Tuesday were patients who were seriously ill from the virus, while 49 percent of patients were admitted for other reasons but happened to test positive upon admission.
The state launched its new method of reporting primary vs. incidental COVID-19 hospitalizations on Thursday, reporting that on Jan. 18, 1,624 people were in the hospital primarily because they were seriously sick with the virus while 1,563 patients had tested positive for COVID-19 while being hospitalized for other

NY State also recently began distinguishing between those who were admitted “for” COVID, and those who were admitted for other reasons, who happened to test positive “with” COVID.
They also found that about half of their “COVID” hospitalizations, were just coincidental, rather than the reason for hospitalization.
You’re right. It was more.

Where’s the “Ignore” button for that GasBag?
You are right, you have no clue.
but hey, you are a doctor of gas (hot air?)

Which is the 75-80%, the “incidental” finding of the virus when someone comes in for a non virus reason?
That is correct
Each hospital, pharmacy or whoever else is giving the jab, also get at least 40 dollars per jab and I don’t know how much per test. A large hospital has probably cleared over 40 million just in jabs for the last year. Look on CMS site to confirm the jab. This is all about the money. All sides are making a fortune off of us.
I saw someone walking their dog, alone around 6:45 AM last week. It was hilarious to see their breath pour out around the mask because it was so cold out that day.
I have a coworker whose face I have not seen since March 2020. They wont even eat in the break/lunch room as they would be eating around mask-less people. Recently they said they would still wear it when outside their house, even outdoors, for at least 6 months after we no longer see ChiComCoof cases.
People like that are too far gone, IMHO. They will say the want to get back to normal, but it is clear they never will.
Strange. That was supposedly just a conspiracy theory just weeks ago.
Only recently have some places tried to officially distinguish between “for” and “with”, in theirCOVID hospitalization reporting.
It is probably another indication of the change in the political winds. It seems that the Democratic Party is shifting, to prepare their “messaging” about the nature of the COVID threat - to declare victory. HHS recently told hospitals that they will no longer have to report COVID deaths, after 1February. The State of the Union address has been moved to March, likely to make it an attempt to claim credit for the collapse in case numbers we should see by then.
The Omicron wave has passed its peak in the USA. In a month, new cases will probably be a tenth of the peak, and still declining. Other parts of the World (notably Asia) will lag a few weeks behind, but in March, the pandemic will very likely have burned itself out, to become a less common and less serious endemic disease - just another among many.
“..Each Hospital gets a bonus payment from the Government for every patient diagnosed with Covid....”
Hospitals have, in essence, become legalized “hit men” for the government. Ain’t socialized medicine great? /s
As it has always been
Good morning. PCR is available but not the primary form of testing at least where I am. I can order it if I am suspicious and want a confirmatory diagnosis.
However I am seeing the same thing that well over 50% of positives are incidental and asymptomatic and these positives are from antigen tests not PCR.
BTW, are they still using Remdesivir at your hospital?
You seem like a responably smart person, yet you continue to fail to see the hoax:

I personally have no skin in ths game, other than the loss of freedoms at the hands of the evil hoaxsters.
This pandemic and vax narrative is in the midst of falling apart, IMO. More than one country has stopped the mandates altogether, CC is now fixated on words and definitions and then changing them, and a few elements of MSM are now doing CYA and starting to ask questions that should have been asked over 18 months ago.
I think that’s why the Administration and still-loyal elements of the MSM are war-mongering about Ukraine.....
To some people, $36,000 is a tremendous amount of money.
To some people a sudden payment of $36,000 is like winning the lottery.
To other people, mostly in business, or blessed, $36,000 isn’t really huge, nice but not life altering.
To other people, that don’t get their medical education from Blogs or Twitter, they understand that ONE day in an ICU bed could cost anywhere from $20,000-$30,000 and just 36 hours can easily surpass $36,000.
Most, if not all Covid patients in ICU with supplemental breathing, or intubated are there for many days, commonly weeks before they’re moved into a rehab ward/bed.
So using the minimal amount of daily ICU cost of $20,000 X 14 days (2 weeks) comes to $280,000.
If the Hospitals are in it to make money, one would have to be a special kind of stupid to think or believe that they’re going to kill off someone for $36,000 when keeping them alive generates at least $280,000.

Riiiiiiiiight…………
Your “skin” in the game is to satisfy your obsession with all things anti-vaccine, and Covid.
Your posting history reflects this.
Your personal “skin” in the game is to feed that obsession.
I wonder what is going to happen to many people here when this pandemic is over.
Either they’re going to need de-programming/therapy or they’ll find something new to wake up everyday with and fall asleep everyday with.
