Actor and superyacht enthusiast Leonardo DiCaprio told Deadline planet Earth has “literally” nine years left on its “ticking clock,” and that “we should not have any elected leaders, on a state level, on a city level, or a national level that don’t listen to science.”
In the Titanic star’s latest Netflix film Don’t Look Up, two astronomers (played by DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence) go on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy Earth. But instead of taking the astronomers seriously, the comet becomes politicized. The film goes on to make several thinly veiled references to the Trump administration, and poke fun of former President Donald Trump and his supporters.
In his interview with Deadline, DiCaprio said “it is incredibly hard to tackle the subject matter” of climate change in a two or three-hour long movie, as he believes that the “ramifications of climate to the environment” are “a slow, deadly roll.”
Therefore, the actor said he enjoyed how Don’t Look Up director Adam McKay instead made the issue about a comet barreling toward earth.
“I really just felt like Adam cracked the code with this idea of it becoming a comet, and have society and the media and people make it a partisan issue,” he said.

Yes, they tried to do that, but to me, Meryl Streep’s president character was more reminiscent of Hillary Clinton, and her son, played by Jonah Hill, was a virtual clone of Hunter Biden.

Nine years remaining! That is why we peons need to reduce our carbon footprint. For, how will the yacht owners be able to continue their activities with us worthless air-breathers messing up the planet?
Is his yacht 60 meters long or 100 meters long? I assume that the yacht is equipped with a helicopter. He probably has a second vessel serving as a yacht tender. The yacht tender carries the cars, SUV’s, ATV’s, rigid inflatable boats and other toys that Leo needs during his play time.
Science? A Voodoo witch doctor is more credible than the leftist punks who preach “science”.
It was hilarious. Without trying, the show was an illustration on the ineptitude of leftists, in government, science and politics.

Most of the movie is a scathing indictment of craven politicians in general as well as the pop media driven nature of the American public. The middle of the movie was a feeble attempt to equate the pathetic computer model generated climate hysteria with the actual physical danger of an impending collision with a comet.
I actually enjoyed the movie and laughed at their failure.
