'We were aware of a 5G issue. Okay. We are aware that everybody is trying to get 5G rolled out after all it's the super cool future of whatever it may be communication and information flow. We were not aware that the power of the antennas in the United States have been doubled compared to what's going on elsewhere. We were not aware that the antenna themselves have been put into a vertical position rather than a slight slanting position, which then taken together compromise not only the radio altimeter systems but the flight control systems on the fly by wire aircraft. So on that basis we took that decision late last night to suspend all our services until we had clarity.'
Buttigieg has not issued a comment on the fiasco since yesterday. The FAA said on Wednesday at noon that it expected an update 'soon', but it is yet to give any further details.
Pete’s still trying to wet-nurse the baby.
Amateur Hour at the White House...
Like so many of Democrat Candidates-in-waiting, Buttplug took the DOT job to remain in the public eye, that’s all.
He has no intention of going down with the Biden ship, or putting his name to anything
Allied Pilots Association spokesperson Dennis Tajer echoed the airlines’ concerns and urged the cellular companies to push back the 5G rollout.
‘This is reckless, it’s dangerous, and it’s got to stop,’ Tajer told the Today Show on Tuesday.
‘Take a pause. This is about a cellphone signal, and we’re focused on protecting lives.’
Who expected Mayor Buttplug to do anything?
Come on man, breastfeeding is hard work.

The DM UK article is VERY, long. So to sum it all up, the U.S. did not follow the same standards as the rest of the world and used a different frequency. They did not communicate with the airlines. No no one wants to be held responsible, and everyone will kick one another under the nearest bus.
I’m not a 5G fan - but even less of an airline fan. Some years back the airlines tried to tell us the same thing about cell phone use during flight, and it turned out all they wanted to do is sell us WiFi access at $18/hour. 5G might screw up older avionics, who knows? But based on history I suspect there is some other agenda here, and some big players are being left out of the profits.
So much for WZAZ in Chicago....
I thought the FCC worked this out years ago, providing a “buffer” between the two frequency bands that was larger than most other nations. This issue WAS well known, and should have been dealt with long before.
Everyone is saying that 5G has been rolled out elsewhere in the world so what seems to be the problem here. The real revelation is in Tim Clark’s statement where he says that the power of the 5G system in the US has been doubled and the antennae orientation is different than I assume what has been done in other installations in other countries. Now THAT is a big deal and if true then the aviation industry has every reason to be concerned. But of course no one in the MSM is telling anyone about this particular detail.
At any rate it’s a total shit show and just adds to the list of national embarrassments we’ve suffered under this Administration.
Just a matter of time before Pete le Butt tries to turn this professional criticism into a personal attack on gays.
Nevermind that this has zero to do with anybody’s sexuality.
Let’s see what happens when American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United start suing AT&T, Verizon, the FAA and the FCC itself.
Delinquent and utterly irresponsible - yup, that’s the Biden gang all right. Who cares how much money it wastes so long as the Big Guy gets his 10%?
What does one expect when a swishy narcissistic faggot is put in charge of something? Did they honestly believe he was remotely capable of doing the job?
