Emirates president: The 5G snafu is the biggest screwup I've witnessed in my career
CNN ^

Posted on 01/19/2022 7:22:49 AM PST by janetjanet998

The president of Emirates tells CNN that the airline was not aware of some of the potential 5G rollout issues until yesterday morning, calling the situation "one of the most delinquent, utterly irresponsible" he has seen in his aviation career. Major international airlines are scrambling to modify or cancel flights to the United States amid uncertainty about potential interference between new 5G cell phone services and critical airplane technologies. Emirates has canceled flights to nine US destinations today.

But it’s utterly critical for them to put digital leashes on us... so even your damned refrigerator can surveil you, and for digital dollars and ending currency, and for massive surveillance.

Oops, I mean so millennials can watch movies in their phone more easily.

More like “good job, corrupt US govt and FCC”. This 5G push has been more about payoffs and kickbacks than anything else, and safety (as well as national security) was brushed aside because so much money was at stake. This is pushed hardest when Dems are in power. Trump had some folks who pushed back but there is no one with any sense of right/wrong in charge right now.

There has got to be more to this story. Are the airlines just covering for themselves? What are the actual chances a 5G signal causes a plane to crash?

But on the bright side, at least we got rid of a few flights back-and-forth from the Middle East. So that’s a silver lining I guess! GOPe hit hardest. I’m a glass half full guy.

A couple of questions.

Has this 5G issue been known for a long time or was it just discovered ?? I assume people knew about this for a long time.

If 5G is a problem in the USA, does the same issue exist in other countries implementing 5G ??? Does 5G in other countries use a frequency band that doesn’t cause the same issue.

If the same problem exists everywhere have other countries solved the issue or is the USA just so inept and neglected on the issue ??

Why are you linking to CNN? Whether you like CNN or hate CNN, every click on the website puts money in its bank account and helps keep CNN on the air despite its dismal ratings.

Ahead of the massive 5G rollout in the United States, major airlines such as Emirates, Air India, ANA, and Japan Airlines have announced that they will cancel some flights due to concerns that it may interfere with some instruments and endanger passengers’ safety.

Cancelling the bulk of international flights will push us further in the abyss. This is by design.

My son met me at the grocery yesterday. Freezers, chicken, 75% of the beef, potatoes, onions and 1/2 the deli were empty.

"My God, we have become the Soviet Union, how long can this go on?", I told my son. He replied, "Dad, ~these~ are the good times".

Airlines don’t cancel flights of that nature in a light hearted manner. It can indeed screw with altimeters, automatic flight controls, automatic braking systems, etc... all of the things that you want on final approach.

5G is desperately needed to increase the surveillance state, and to remake the economy with digital currencies that are centrally monitored.

Other countries sold lower frequencies.

Other countries are also either providing aircraft warnings or halting the C-band 5G components.

Here's a link to the FAA document detailing the problems. It's a long read, 16 pages, but it explains what they're worried about and why it's different in the U.S. than Europe.
