I’m not a 5G fan - but even less of an airline fan. Some years back the airlines tried to tell us the same thing about cell phone use during flight, and it turned out all they wanted to do is sell us WiFi access at $18/hour. 5G might screw up older avionics, who knows? But based on history I suspect there is some other agenda here, and some big players are being left out of the profits.
As I’ve heard, whoever first implements 5G sets the standards. That could be US. It could be China.
I’ve heard these attempted delays are intentional to allow Xi’s Chinese to launch their’s first and set the standards.
This contradicts that theory. Another thought, however, involves US hoarding frequencies beyond reason to, again, slow our (US) development and implementation.
