CBS’s The Late Show host Stephen Colbert played sore loser on Monday’s show when he suggested getting rid of the U.S. Senate, calling it an “anti-democratic” institution following the Democrats’ failure to eliminate the filibuster.
Stephen Colbert was chatting with guest Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) when he made the bizarre suggestion. “If you can’t get rid of the filibuster… then what if we just get rid of the Senate? And I’m 100 percent serious here. It is the most anti-democratic institution next to the judiciary,” he said.

It appears that Colbert fails to understand the original intent of the Constitution. The Senate was originally suppose to represent their respective states, being elected by their state legislature, prior to the 17th amendment, which turned over selection to a direct citizen vote. The two bodies of congress, originally was to consist of one elected by the citizens, and one elected by the states legislatures.
Colbert apparently thinks that the voice of the states should be silenced.
The senate was rendered useless after the 17th amendment.
Colbert isn’t fit to shine Johnny Carson’s shoes.
You can say that about every late night talk show host since Carson left.
We stole that election fair and square dxxxit!
Poor guy. This has been pretty tough on him.

Second, his agenda has clearly harmed this nation.
Third, it just didn’t harm it enough for these enemies of
our nation.
