Gas prices rising: Drivers could feel 'real pain' at the pump by springtime, expert warns

It likely won't be until March, as temperatures rise and spring break nears, that "we'll start to see gasoline demand surge, along with refiners doing maintenance ahead of the summer driving season, creating a squeeze," Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum at GasBuddy told FOX Business.

As a result, drivers may see a "much more pronounced increase in prices" from March to May, according to De Haan.

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. rose to $3.31 this week, up 1.3 cents from a week ago, according to GasBuddy data. This marks the third consecutive week of gains at the pump, giving drivers a rough start to 2022.

De Haan projected that there may be an increase of 10 to 20 cents per gallon every month until May, when the national average could hit or even surpass $4 a gallon.

He also said that the country is currently facing "just slight increases in most areas."

Earlier this month, GasBuddy projected that the national average price for a gallon of gasoline could even climb to a high of $4.13 in June.

However, after a projected "hot start to the summer," prices are forecast to decline, potentially falling just under $3 per gallon by the 2022 holiday season.

We’ll be too worried about the empty grocery store shelves to worry about gas prices.

That is OK it does not affect joey and that is all that matters. Maybe he will talk to his wife’s friend again and she can tell him.

When the Houthi (Iran surrogates) attack three tankers in port in one day,
there is little wonder why the price of oil is going up.
Awaiting a sternly issued post-it note from Biden to Iran, or the Houthis...

“Real pain” by this spring? I can hardly wait to experience that, since in my area we’ve been paying $5.30 per gal since last spring.

Gas prices rising: Drivers could feel 'real pain' at the pump by springtime, expert warns

Here in Northern California, premium unleaded has been going for around $5/gal for months now. I'm already feeling real pain. It's just more pain after this.

I dont like paying more for gas than anyone else but these morons need to suffer for their support of Jobama. This is a clear example of cutting ones nose off to spite their face. Closing down pipelines and regulation of “fossil fuels” compounded with overreaching vaccine mandates have resulted devastating consequences...and its all political theatre... now people have to pay for these clearly counterproductive errors....everyone...including the vast majority of the “81 million” who voted for Corn Pop. Let them feel it in every paycheck/ govt handout.

And this will hurt the very people Biden claims he is helping ... the poor folks.

And in Georgia, a few years ago, a POS from Gainesville pushed through a 30cent per gallon tax to fill the infrastructure fund. As you can imagine no other ayate legislators said a peep.

He stated that if his constituents didn’t like it they could vote him out.

The day after the bill was signed, the POS resigned his seat.

And it hasn’t been touched or talked about since, to my knowledge.

Nothing but crooks at every level of government.

Just paid $2.929 off I-77 below Columbia SC. Would’ve been $2.829/cash if the flashing sign had been quicker. It was flashing slow and I missed that there was even a cash price until too late.
