If the scientists at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had their way, to curb the spread of Covid-19 right now, nearly every US school would cancel football, wrestling, band and loads of other mainstay school activities.
In another piece of guidance, the CDC tells people who've recovered from Covid-19 that they can leave their homes after five days -- and while they are out and about for the next five days, they should avoid being around more than 80% of the US public.
Dr. William Schaffner, an adviser to the CDC for four decades, said it's "unlikely, unreasonable, and unrealistic" to think Americans will follow either of the agency's suggestions.
"Making public health recommendations -- they are not a platonic ideal," Schaffner added. "They have to work in the real world."

Let’s the American people start a petition to cancel the CDC. They’re doing a lot more damage to the U.S. than Covid.
CDC should be dissolved, for real.
Extracurricular activities like band and football are what make school tolerable for many young people. Those who take an active interest in their own education also enjoy the extracurricular activities. We cannot allow the left to take them away.
The CDC really doesn’t care about “defeating” COVID-19, they care about destroying American culture.

There can be no rational public health policy until CDC is abolished.

Slightly off topic ... A family member is going through this:
A 3rd grade boy tested positive, was not very sick, and can go back to school in 5 days.
His 5th grade sister is not sick at all, but “must” take a test. If she’s positive she can go back in 5 days. If she’s negative she can go back in 15 days.
Not kidding, not misinformed.
But injecting everyone and forcing mask everywhere was practical???????
My old tagline was a quote from the CDC site, “We don’t know how people are infected with Ebola.”
They’re just as clueless about covid but they’re working hard to spread it.
Nope- no way. Our state’s kids were “virtual” from March through end of May 2020. Football practice started up in July 2020 and we’ve been in school, in the stadiums, gyms, and concert halls ever since. This was before vaccines and before we knew much about the lethality (or lack thereof) of the disease. The PTA and Booster Clubs never even had to solicit volunteers to clear away the bodies after every event.
That's because when the scientists were in school the jocks gave them wedgies and the cheerleaders laughed when they asked them for dates.
It is the CDC that needs to be canceled.
