The Electric Vehicle Scam

In order to match the 2,000 cars that a typical filling station can service in a busy 12 hours, an EV charging station would require 600, 50-watt chargers at an estimated cost of $24 million and a supply of 30 megawatts of power from the grid. That is enough to power 20,000 homes. No one likely thinks about the fact that it can take 30 minutes to 8 hours to recharge a vehicle between empty or just topping off. What are the drivers doing during that time?

ICSC-Canada board member New Zealand-based consulting engineer Bryan Leyland describes why installing electric car charging stations in a city is impractical:

“If you’ve got cars coming into a petrol station, they would stay for an average of five minutes. If you’ve got cars coming into an electric charging station, they would be at least 30 minutes, possibly an hour, but let’s say its 30 minutes. So that’s six times the surface area to park the cars while they’re being charged. So, multiply every petrol station in a city by six. Where are you going to find the place to put them?”

The government of the United Kingdom is already starting to plan for power shortages caused by the charging of thousands of EVs. Starting in June 2022, the government will restrict the time of day you can charge your EV battery. To do this, they will employ smart meters that are programmed to automatically switch off EV charging in peak times to avoid potential blackouts.

It’s going to be like the first 2 terms under Osama.
We we going to be trillions more in the hole with little to show for it.
Meanwhile, our humble servants by another mansion and add more to their multimillions.

Physics, infrastructure limitations, and government restrictions on building additional generating capacity says you’re wrong.

It seems like yesterday when Oprah was talking about saving the planet by merely replacing old light bubs with the squigglies - to save electricity.

Ah, yes - the squiggly Chinese mercury bomblets, which are slowly exiting the scene...

“When batteries can do that we’ll be using ray guns instead of guns with bullets.”

Most ev’s now do 300 mile range. Toyota said their goal is 450 miles by 2025 with their new sold state battery.
Ev technology is rapidly changing every month.

Thinking along the same line. Large parking lots.

Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi

“They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got
Till it’s gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

They took all the trees
Put ‘em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see ‘em “

EV’s will STILL be unaffordable to most people, and require poorly-accessible charging stations!!!!

PHOOEY to the climate jockeys, and all who benefit from their nefarious activities!!!!

Then why is the first car they’re putting it in going to be a 2025 hybrid?

Other issues to consider:

Managing the hazardous waste generated by used batteries will be difficult and expensive.

Making batteries light enough to be used in vehicles means skipping on reinforcement of the batteries. Expect gruesome car fires during crashes.

“and government restrictions on building additional generating capacity says you’re wrong”

The us gov’t is increasing money to expand and fortify the grid. 177 new natural gas power plants are being built right now across the US.

2 of the largest coal powered plants in the US on the Ohio River have been given federal approval to supply power to at least 2050.

There is no restrictions.

I've already booked my trip to Mars. Just waiting for the technology to catch up.

No kidding. I made a reservation for the PanAm space shuttle back in 1968. I'm still waiting for them to call. ;>)

Teslas new batteries and the new solid state batteries coming out are 100% recylable.

The solid state batteries do not catch fire like the lithium..that is one reason why most car companies are going that route.

Well, you are obviously ALL IN on electric vehicles.

Me? I waiting on a little ‘truth in advertising’ with batteries. Most all of the EV claims I see are only 60% of what the claim is. The vehicle performance is outstanding. The falsity of the charging times and miles on a charge are also outstanding.

Until you can get 400-500 REAL miles on a charge in < 10 minutes, EVs are doing what the Urban Liberals have intended all along - Curtailing the freedoms of everyone else and forcing us to live like them.

Asphalt roads should be replaced with charging roads (no more pot holes!). As the EV drives on these charging roads, it gets charged. Like those charging pad things they have for iphones.
Then the fun part will be not being able to drive when it rains or snows to avoid electrocution.

“A charging station is a selling point to get people into their stores.”

How much does this free incentive to shop cost the store? And what in the heck makes you think everyone WANTS to stop and shop? What will my motel charge me to recharge my car battery overnight? And where does that electricity come from when western countries are cutting power production?

Ultimately, EVs are NOT “emission free”. They are “Displaced emission vehicles”.

A 50 watt charger? False in one, false in all.

And ray guns don’t cause global warming.

Except when they rip the space-time continuum.
