Yes. Feds deferred to the states. DeWine went off the deep end with such power.
SO DID I!!
For your interest.
Ron, I love you but you CLOSED THE BEACHES!
The Hill… still trying to incite internecine war within Republican ranks.
Don’t be gullible and fall for it, FReepers.
Yes. The business of America is business … not being safe.
A little late now.
The truth is DeSantis did impose some restrictions during the March-May 2020 time frame. Also, he allowed local municipalities in Florida to impose their own rules, which is why we saw most public places such as businesses but also parks and playgrounds closed for months in south Florida.
I do believe that is accurate.
The business of America is FREEDOM....or at least it USED to be!
He should stand by his decision and explain why he made it. If I was in his shoes I never would have shut anything down in my state, but I can accept a “wrong” decision made by someone else in the same position who had limited information to work with.
This guy just came out as a political hack, and he clearly knows that he has no credibility today when he runs around acting like the white knight standing up for freedom and liberty in Florida.
For all her flaws, the only governor who refused to shut anything down during the COVID fiasco was Kristi Noem.
one of his biggest regrets in office is not speaking out “much louder” against the initial COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020.Was that before or after he shut down Florida's economy?
Yes
Gerald Celente always says that the business of China is business; the business of America is war.
It was up to the states so why is DeSantis complaining? It was the right call then and looking back. The initial version was far deadlier, we had little understanding of it. No question millions would’ve died in that first year if we hadn’t paused the economy. I kept working all throughout and covid made me mess of things but the real problem is Joe had no plan on getting us back on track.
He also had this to say in the same interview...
DeSantis Dismisses Notion of ‘Animosity’ Between Him And Trump: ‘This is What the Media Does’’
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was asked on the popular Ruthless podcast Friday about speculation that he and former President Donald Trump are on the outs as both are looking at possible runs for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
One of the show’s multiple hosts noted that the media is “trying to drive a wedge between you and one of your constituents here in Florida, former President Trump.”
“Is there any sort of animosity?” the host asked. “What’s that relationship like? I want to know what that dynamic is like.”
“I think this is what the media does,” DeSantis shot back, dismissing the question.
“You cannot fall for the bait. You know what they’re trying to do, so just don’t take it. Just keep on keeping on. We need everybody united for a big red wave in 2022. We’ve gotta fight the left, and not only fight but beat the left. And that’s what we’re doing in Florida.”
Life is normal in at least my county in Florida. I credit DeSantis and our local authorities.
Don’t confuse the ChiOoms preparing for wars of conquest and achieving hegemony with being about business.
DeSantis isn’t helping.
