In the 1980s shock jock Howard Stern became the self-declared "King of All Media," but in recent years his relevance has been on the decline. The same can't be said for Joe Rogan. His podcast is now considered more important to up and coming comics than The Tonight Show was even in the era of Johnny Carson.
And even as he courts controversy Rogan shows no signs of backing down.

Just this week, a group of 270 medical experts called on Spotify to cancel the top-rated "The Joe Rogan Experience."...In particular the group of medical professionals called out a December 31, 2021 episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, which featured guest Dr. Robert Malone...Yet, even as some in the medical community may have called out Rogan, his power is certainly felt on social media as many users quickly came to his defense.
"The more our media tries to get us to hate Joe Rogan, the more I love the guy," wrote YouTube Channel and Twitch host Gary Sheffield Jr. (@GarysheffieldJr).
...
Rogan, a comedian and UFC color commentator, launched the podcast in December 2009. Since December 2020 it has been available exclusively on Spotify, while highlights are also uploaded to YouTube. In January 2019, the podcast won Best Comedy Podcast at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, and last year it remained the most popular podcast in the United States.
The power of his brand was also on display earlier this month after he very publicly signed up for the Twitter rival Gettr, which was created by former Trump aid Jason Miller. The platform had launched last July, but after Rogan joined up the service reportedly saw a massive influx of users.

The guy was born in 1967, so he was 21 when Reagan left office. Yet Obama was the best President in his lifetime. We’re his early years wasted in a drug induced stuper?
Actually, he did accuse Carlos Mencia of stealing his jokes and many other comedian’s jokes.
There is a YouTube video out there of Rogan confronting Mencia on stage about his plagiarizing
My son is a fan of Joe Rogan. Listens to everything he says. About 2 years ago, my son was a pretty brainwashed lefty - thanks to his buddies who went to university....not a flakey lefty, life the pronoun bunch, but pretty liberal.
As this scamdemic unfolded, I KNEW my son would take that jab. Every day I emailed him article after article, telling him to not dare take that jab. He put off getting the jab, and I like to think I made him just a tad nervous about it.
Well, I guess Joe Rogan had a few people on who started to wake him up as well, starting with Alex Berenson. It got my son thinking, and, more importantly, searching a bit. Now he’s a full-fledged soldier in the war on the crazy left. He never got jabbed, and he’s now telling me about the evil globalists, and their diabolical plans. Lol told me all about Blackrock and Vanguard the other day.
I give credit for Joe Rogan for having people on and letting them speak. He asks some pretty good questions, and truly wants to hear people explain their points of view, and their research. He says things that indicate he doesn’t have a CLUE as to what’s going on in the world, but I have hope that now that he’s been pushed onto the path, he’ll get there. The left attacking Joe Rogan for fighting covid like he did was a BIG mistake.
That’s your opinion which is fine, but I like the guests he has on from time to time, guests you won’t hear anywhere else.
I don’t watch the podcast on a daily basis and rarely watch the entire episode when I do tune in but the guests and information can’t be found anywhere else.
There’s a lot of youtube videos of Rogan accusing a lot of comedians. That was basically his bread and butter after Fear Factor got canceled, the only thing keeping him semi-famous. Being comedy’s Atlanta Braves enforcing all the unwritten rules.
Never imagined that out of the people on his back in the day sitcom, that he would be the one to blow up & become really famous.
He’s just politically ignorant. He doesn’t like all this leftist/marxist/commie control freak crap but ignorant to the fact that Obama is a marxist. Maybe some guest will enlighten him some day.
There must be quite a few FReepers who literally can’t watch or listen to anyone because there’s no one who has the political purity level they’re seeking. Seems like some require 100% agreement on all topics. Someone has one wrong opinion and it’s to hell with them.
I’ve only listened to short bits of Rogans podcast but given this new info I will now give him a deep dive and judge for myself the worth of his words.
Stealing other people’s jokes is not a crime but it’s a pretty crappy thing to do, besides Rogan a number other comedians were attacking Mencia for stealing their jokes.
To me knowledge Mencia has pretty much disappeared since the accusations were made public.
He’s become very well known and wealthy for someone who doesn’t have much going for him.
But anyone unable to recognize Obama for what he is, is lost to me. That is a bad sign. His inability to discern puts him in a bad category.
All the young people listen to him- but more importantly- his guests. He is doing his part in destroying the Covid narrative. No matter his political leanings or understanding.

I read the bio of a few of these 250 signatories...many are relative nobodys - doctoral candidates, pledge representatives to the social committee, etc. It's basically a bunch of leftists glomming on to her coat tails.
The way I look at it, there are about 1MM other "specialists" who did NOT sign on. Authority bias is so unbecoming.
I would not give up on Joe Rogan because of this one mistake.
He has done more to spread the truth about these COVID vaccines than anyone else in all of media.
Millions more people have been enlightened because they have watched his podcast.
Nobody is perfect.
Tucker was friends with Hunter.
Mike Lindell was a drug addict.
Bill O’Reilly was not perfect.
Neither is Hannity
Nor is Newsmax
Joe Rogan is spreading information about things that the MSM doesn’t want us to know
I read the other day that he rcently said that Obama
was the greatest President of his lifetime . Fake news ?
He also makes it ok to be an alpha male. Many of his guests are ex military operators, MMA fighters, adventurers… high T stuff exalted and betas are ridiculed. Rogan and listened since his early days.
He’s not a “failed” anything.
Rush Limbaugh got about 15 million cumulative listeners per week, and we regarded Rush as king of conservative talk radio.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh
Rogan gets 11 million PER EPISODE. He’s bigger than Tucker Carlson.
Good points and if he is spreading the truth about Covid and other information the MSM doesn’t want us to hear, that is very good.
He should come out and retract what he said about Obama because by now he must realize that he was wrong. That would be a gutsy thing to do and maybe he is hesitant to do so for legitimate concerns.
Rogan is useful so use him. If he reaches a previously unreachable audience with useful information that furthers the fight for freedom, take the win. Broadcast those points. The Malone interview is a prime example.
Let that fat beast win and it’s 1861 immediately. Many of us would be absolutely ungovernable
For every lefty comment rogan makes he makes 10 coming from the right. I’ve listened to most of his podcasts. I avoid the comedian ones!
