There may indeed be some wordplay going on. Not FBI? Well, that leaves a lot of other possibilities, a lot of other agencies and possible intermediaries, some not very well-known by the general public.

Exactly. He was an instigator.

Lawyer is gonna be technical. What is the new name for an informant? He can deny his client is an informant but because they’re defining him as something else?

There is no downside to a lawyer lying to the public in such a situation.
Epps is a fed ‘asset’, regardless of which fed bureaucracy.

Re: when FBI agents interview individuals, they typically aren't under oath.
True...
But lying to them is a federal crime.
Just ask Martha Stewart.

So, he’s an FBI employee.

"Because he’s an FBI agent who set up Trump supporters..and for that he’s been given the key to the city..if Epps were a Trump supporter he would have been arrested day 1 and put into solitary confinement til today."
They call us "conspiracy theorists" for asking obvious questions based on indisputable facts: (1) Epps is on film, multiple times, taking a leadership role in encouraging and facilitating people to breach the Capitol; and (2) he has not been charged even though scores - perhaps hundreds - of lesser figures HAVE been charged, e.g., grannies who wandered into the Capitol after DC cops let them in.
Until those facts can be reconciled with some other plausible explanation, we must assume that at some level Epps was a federal asset. AND, it is extremely unlikely that he was the only one.
To: gattaca
Not to my knowledge is not a denial.

So a hired mouthpiece for Epps says he doesn't work for the FBI. That's believable /s
Ok, how about DIA? SS? or MPD? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, and lawyers never lie for their clients, either.

Using the logic that the left is applying in this case, the guy who plans the bank robbery and urges others to do it is not guilty unless he himself enters the bank.

Ray Epps is a fine candidate for the robust application of tar and feathers. He’d best pray his involvement is soon buried by his friends in government and media.

We shouldn't focus exclusively on the FBI; there are many other agencies with a history of participation on questionable government operations. I personally think some obscure military group may have been involved.
The storming of the walls was done with military precision, and seemed the perfect photo image to frame the "insurrection" narrative. Feds could have infiltrated the Oath Keepers to suggest and encourage a stunt like that.
To: Fester Chugabrew
I wonder if Epps is under federal protection at his ranch.
To: Steve_Seattle
Some people who didn’t enter, like Epps, were charged with conspiracy.
