The U.S. Supreme Court blocked President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on large private businesses through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on Thursday, but upheld a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate.
The decision on the OSHA mandate was 6-3; the decision on the CMS mandate was 5-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh joining the court’s three Democratic appointees in upholding it.
As Breitbart News reported last week, the Court had appeared skeptical of the mandates during oral arguments, especially the OSHA mandate, as Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar struggled to identify the statutory authority for imposing it.
Chief Justice Roberts had seemed particularly irritated by a comment by MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle that had been retweeted by White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, which referred to the OSHA mandate as a “workaround.”
The conservative justices seemed concerned during oral arguments about the CMS mandate’s use of the federal spending power to pressure institutions accepting Medicare and Medicare funding to comply, but the more limited scope of the mandate, at least compared to the OSHA mandate’s more blatant intrusion into the private sector, appeared to save it.

Ron Klain, White House Chief of Staff, made a public declaration on Twitter that it was a workaround to the law. He needs to be charged for pushing a diktat that he new to be based on fraud.

President Biden responded to the rulings shortly after they were released and encouraged private businesses to issue mandates — requiring the firing of workers — despite the decision.
“Today’s decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the requirement for health care workers will save lives: the lives of patients who seek care in medical facilities, as well as the lives of doctors, nurses, and others who work there. It will cover 10.4 million health care workers at 76,000 medical facilities. We will enforce it,” Biden.
“The Court has ruled that my administration cannot use the authority granted to it by Congress to require this measure, but that does not stop me from using my voice as President to advocate for employers to do the right thing to protect Americans’ health and economy,” he continued. “I call on business leaders to immediately join those who have already stepped up – including one third of Fortune 100 companies – and institute vaccination requirements to protect their workers, customers, and communities.”
10.4 MILLION healthcare workers is a LOTTA workers who may just be fired or quit after this...! just don’t get sick!!!!!

I’ll bet most health care workers have had Covid or are immune to it. SCOTUS blew this one.
Now we wait to see if Biden has the guts to stretch the second ruling to include anyone getting medicare/Medicaid. Maybe even Social Security?
We might finally see a revolt. But...the majority of those people are old and may be feeble.
Please consider a career switch to tech. A former nurse as a newly-trained ScrumMaster? Someone who knows how to mediate between doctor and patient, facilitating the healthy outcome via best practices; and then is the one responsible for tracking what was said, the administration of the product going forward, and planning the next course of action? YOU'RE HIRED!
I’m not saying I agree, because I don’t, but these judges are morons and their limited logical solutions skills led them to impose the OSHA mandate on healthcare workers based upon their types of workplaces.
OSHA sets workplace regulations.
Forcing anyone to take an experimental drug is not libertylover's idea of freedom.

I would not be surprised if Kavanaugh and Barrett take turns screwing over the conservatives so that they can claim, “Hey, look, I voted with your side half of the time.” Alito, Thomas and (for the most part) Gorsuch are the only ones I consider legitimate conservatives.

I like the exponent over the 19. Still appears this hold for ALL health care workers. I wonder how many will leave. If I were still an RN I really could not deal with the immorality and jabbing poisons in all adults and children.
