Russia Won't Rule Out Military Deployment to Cuba, Venezuela

Russia on Thursday sharply raised the stakes in its dispute with the West over Ukraine, with a top diplomat refusing to rule out a Russian military deployment to Cuba and Venezuela if tensions with the United States mount.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who led the Russian delegation in Monday’s talks with the U.S. in Geneva, said he could “neither confirm nor exclude” the possibility of Russia sending military assets to Cuba and Venezuela if the talks fail and U.S. pressure on Russia mounts.

The Russia-U.S. negotiations in Geneva and a subsequent NATO-Russia meeting failed to narrow the gap on Moscow’s security demands amid a buildup of Russian troops near Ukraine. While Moscow demanded a halt to NATO expansion, Washington and its allies firmly rejected that as a nonstarter.

Putin should send a few warships to Cuba. Maybe the “Peter the Great” Armed with new hypersonic rockets. A good will mission. Maybe set up a naval base. Russians sailors might like a visit to the Copa.

Germany is likely to not allow US troops to help stop an invasion of Poland and the Baltics to protect themselves from nuclear attack. Same goes for the French.

I am fully confident that the German government is under strong Russian control, starting with that old hag Mama Merkel. When everything you do as a government assists Russia, even shutting down your nuclear plants or letting huge numbers of refugees in, it’s hard to believe that it’s not a deliberate plan to bring the country under the heel of Russia and China.

The clowns mulling the closure of NPP are greens who are on CIA payroll. The same idiots wage war on natural gas.

Isn’t it “interesting” who Russia’s “friends” are?? They say you can learn alot about a person by the friends they keep.

That Russia chooses brutal murderous communist totalitarians in Venezuela and Cuba as it’s “friends” tells all one needs to know about the true colors of Putin and his commie cronies.

Putin has turned Russia into a joke.

Putin knows that if he invades, Russians will be in bread lines once again. He’s a clumsy dictator who seems to be backing down to weak knee’d Biden.

Kinda like America was friends with Mexico before the Mexican war and Texican War of Independence, and "friends" thereafter.

Or America was friends with Spain and Cuba before the Spanish American War (courtesy W.R. Hearst), and "friends" with Spain and Cuba thereafter.

Or America America was friends with Germany (and hosted many German-American Bunds) before WWI.

Or America was "friends" with Japan while they ravaged Free China and Free Korea before the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, WWII and friends thereafter.

Or America was friends with Russia and the Soviet Union (according to Walter Duranty and The New York Times), until Russia was no longer necessary to win WWII over our friends Japan and Germany.

Yep, they say you can learn a lot about a nation by the friends they keep.

And it ain't necessarily true.

“..Yep, they say you can learn a lot about a nation by the friends they keep....”

Nations have no “friends” just a commonality of “interests” that brings them together. Those “interests” change due to changing international circumstances. That “togetherness’ may or may not last with those changed “circumstances”.

Your list illustrated that well !

And there you have it, an Absolute Truth that will never change.

Those “interests” change due to changing international circumstances.

And that is what changes alliances.

Well done!
