California Governor Gavin Newsom reported Monday in his annual state budget proposal that the state expects a $45.7 billion surplus — thanks partly to $26 billion received from President Joe Biden’s so-called coronavirus “relief” bill.

Newsom announced the surplus Monday in a $286.4 billion budget, including spending that “will make California the first state in the nation to offer universal access to healthcare coverage for all state residents, regardless of immigration status.”

Why is MY money that I make in PA go to a BS state that keeps doing the wrong thing and oppressing the citizens?

thanks partly to $26 billion received from President Joe Biden’s so-called coronavirus “relief” bill.

And the rest due to Federal Reserve goosing FAANG stocks, real estate and every other asset class under the sun.

Uh-huh. And this ‘surplus’ is in addition to the $31 billion in fraudulent unemployment claims? Or do they count that as an asset?

It’s hard to tell because the State of California refuses to use generally accepted accounting practices.

Isn’t there a law in Californai that requires any budget surplus be returned to the taxpayers?

Or has that changed?

So when does he refund the “surplus” to us California taxpayers?

Instead he wants to give it to foreign invaders which we expressly voted against OVERWHELMINGLY in 1994.

Nothing I enjoy more than giving my money to Democrats so they can buy votes.

Looks like socialism works. You do everything woke and pro-BLM and tax the snot out of society’s producers and you end up with a surplus./S

Like money to charity “after expenses” they rake some money off the surplus to the top politicians, then some to lobbyists and then embezzle the rest like the “lost” Covid relief millions in DC.

Taxpayers can then divide $1.27 left over.

There was also a big run-up on tech stocks last year. I’m sure they reaped a big tax windfall from all the tech zillionaires cashing in on their gains. Capital gains are taxed as regular income in California.

California’s economy is larger than Texas and Florida combined.

California 3.353 Trillion
Texas 2.006 Trillion
Florida 1.227 Trillion

California has lots of problems that Texas and Florida do not, that is for sure. But it also pays more in Federal taxes than any other state.

In 2023 we want a bill demanding California pay back the “stimulus” it in fact did not need.
