Guerrilla war exercise to be fought across rural North Carolina counties, Army warns

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A “realistic” guerrilla war will be fought across two dozen North Carolina counties in the coming weeks, with young soldiers battling seasoned “freedom fighters,” according to the U.S. Army.

The two-week “unconventional warfare exercise” will be staged Jan. 22-Feb. 4 on privately owned land. And it will be realistic enough to include the sounds of gunfire (blanks) and flares, the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School said in a news release.

Exact times, locations and exercise specifics were not provided.

However, advance publicity is intended to make sure civilians — including law enforcement officers — don’t mistake the fighting for terrorism or criminal activity, which has happened in the past.

“Residents may hear blank gunfire and see occasional flares. Controls are in place to ensure there is no risk to persons or property,” the warfare center said.

I don’t think liberal NC would be the place they’d go to. Maybe parts of North Georgia and Tennessee, but to me it looks like NC is totally under the thumb of their liberal dysfunctional place, Asheville.

I don’t live there, so I could easily be wrong…if so, let me know.

“What does an active duty SF annual exercise have to do with civil law enforcement?

Are you sure your on the correct topic?”

It is the perfect place to train SF forces.

Eric Rudolph would be considered a Freedom Fighter by some. The Civil Law Enforcement (some of them trained Vets) could not find him. I doubt SF would have found him.

If there was a need for season Freedom Fighters (Vets), they would meet up in those mountains for the same reason Eric Rudolph was hiding there. Folks in those parts would help those season fighters to hide. The SF would be put to the test in those mountains.

When you get away from Asheville into the Rural areas, it becomes Trump Land. North GA has its Liberals too around Blue Ridge.

Still losing me on this crime and US military link up.

You are aware of posse comitatus and other such principles?

I know, insurrection and rebellion clause not withstanding, the army doesn’t have a role even if it fits your narrative.

“I know, insurrection and rebellion clause notwithstanding, the army doesn’t have a role even if it fits your narrative.”

“You are aware of posse comitatus and other such principles?”

I am aware of it but are the people in power aware of it and respect it?

The United States Government broke Posse Comitatus laws 6 times in history to suppress Civilian Uprisings in the US.

In 1932, 43000 protestors with over 17000 former soldiers marched on Washington D.C. to protest the money owed to them from WW1. President Hoover order the United States Military to attack the protestors. The Army was armed with bayonets on their rifles. General Patton, then a Major, led that attack.

Do you really think the current/future USA government cares about posse comitatus? Look at the woke Generals we have today.
Look at our members of the Arm Forces where the ranks are filled with woke people.

How many days did the National Guard Army an arm of the Federal Army occupy Washington DC?

They were not there to protect the Capital buildings; they were there to suppress free speech (protest). You did not hear about anybody protesting Biden during inauguration.

Democrats hate Republicans (note: that includes Never Trumpers) and will do anything to stay in power to include deploying the military.

We still have people in jailed for Jan 6th denied bail.
Why are they having the Jan 6th commission?
Just the other day Biden wants to change the Senate rules to pass the laws that will weaken our voting rights.

The people in power (Republicans and Democrats) do not respect United State Laws and Constitution.

DC is federal property. All of it, therefore PC is not violated, and esp. with the use of ARNG on LE duty.

The rest of your examples are with and without merit in the particulars.

Your axe is ground, now what?

They are preparing for what? Civil disorder in the USA?

They're training to support guerilla warfare in other countries. This exercise, which has been conducted for decades (remember the big deal when it happened under Obama? Bush? etc?), is used to help train SF soldiers.

Guerillas have a pretty good track record against the U.S. Army.

I ain't worried.

Um, these guerillas ARE the US Army. The main purpose of this exercise is to help train SF in conducting guerilla and clandestine operations.

Yes, I see your point. They always do teach modern military to fight against guerrillas, which is essentially what many “insurgents” abroad are and what the Americans were in the fight against the British. So that’s reasonable.

This training isn't designed to be teaching the military to fight insurgents, this training is for the SF soldiers operating as guerillas/insurgents. The regular Army guys participating are the "bad guys".
