True. There is a substantial body of evidence that CO2 levels lag temperature increase but of course that would mean that something else is driving temperature. Hmmm, what could it be? Perhaps that really big nuclear reactor 90 million miles away?

In 2012 I got to sit with a group of reporters when an Indiana candidate for the United States Senate held a campaign event at our family business in Indianapolis. The candidate, Richard Mourdock, was about a half hour late for the event and I was sequestered with reporters from the Associated Press, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and several other national news outlets while waiting for him to arrive. During a quiet moment in the room I asked the group of reporters what they thought about the latest Pew Research poll showing the media with an approval rating in the 30s. That started a very interesting discussion involving many topics including climate change and the demonization fossil fuels.
During The discussion I was able to ask the group of reporters if any of them knew how much carbon dioxide was actually in our atmosphere. It was totally revealing when not a single reporter was able to get close to the percentage of CO2 in our atmosphere and in fact, one reporter even guessed that that number was around 80%. LOL. After I explained to them the actual number, to their great surprise, was around .34 of 1%, I looked at the Associated Press reporter and asked her if she knew who Seth Borenstein was. After she said she did indeed know Mr Borenstein, I explained to the other reporters that he was AP’s resident Chicken Little on climate change and he wasted no weather event in his efforts to demonize fossil fuels.
These reporters, representing the biggest names in media, were not only wildly clueless about carbon dioxide and the true cost to the American people in the ongoing campaign to demonize fossil fuels, several reporters attempted to blame the ignorance of the American public for their poor popularity numbers. During the ensuing conversation I came to the realization that the average news reporter knows less than most Americans about every topic we discussed and the American public was being informed by idiots.
I have to admit, I don’t think Ive enjoyed any conversation more than that one as I had the opportunity to fully expose their ignorance. It was a glorious half hour.
