--this buffoon apparently doesn't know that a "straw purchase" is a federal crime for both buyer and seller--

--and I wonder what the car manufacturers are supposed to do about "carjacking?--

More federal gun laws? NOPE! They always hide a poison pill in them, like the 1986 Act that outlawed new machine gun sales.

Durbin’s “solutions” contain a tacit admission: Democrat Chicago and Illinois are too corrupt to enforce existing laws, so he wants to punt to the feds. Why isn’t Biden doing anything to prosecute those who break federal firearms laws? Does he want to pass a law that says the givernment must enforce the law? Now that could get interesting...

It is fairly easy for individuals to have “kill switches” put on their cars. Many (most?) police vehicles have such. No need to coerce manufacturers to do anything.

Enforcing the existing criminal laws effectively and consistently, while making criminals do the full time for the actual crimes they commit, and not offering them plea deals on lesser charges, might be a step in the right direction. You can’t control crime if you have a revolving door in your criminal justice system. Prisons are supposed to be punishment. They are also supposed to be a deterrrent, and they are there, to protect the public from those that continually commit crimes. Prisons are also supposed to rehabilitate. The term rehabilitation is defined as returning something to its original, normal state, but you can’t rehabilitate an individual whose life was never normal to begin with. In all likelihood, if their life before prison was of a criminal nature, a career criminal they will remain for the rest of their lives. Most of them have extensive records, having had run-ins with the law since their teen years, and those run-ins haven’t abated, but have only gotten worse. Repeat offenders need to be removed from the streets permanently. It doesn’t matter what color their skin is. They are a pariah, and only life imprisonment or death is the solution to get rid of them once and for all.

Dick you just need to be a man and stand up and say black people shouldn’t have 2nd Amendment rights! It’s real simple. Feral black punks are killing people. You don’t need the feds. Go ahead and announce no more 2A Rights for Black people! The NAACP & Black Caucus will applaud you. Come one! Be a Dick! It’s what you and the DNC dream of doing to everyone. You should start small with 13% of the most violent murdering people in the country!

As ridiculous as it is, Durbin’s thought-process has a single destination: thought-control.

His solutions are merely mechanical, i.e., if guns kill, stop the guns, which denies individual responsibility. But those mechanics won’t work, as criminals will commit crimes. So the one solution devolves into the next, like an Escher painting, self-reinforcing and infinitely useless.

No system or technology can ever suppress human nature, so the ultimate solution is to deny human nature, aka, free will. Durban thinks he’s God.

The solution is cutting off all the money from the drug cartels - to the Democrat party.

Felons who cannot pass background checks use others with clean records to make these straw purchases.

If so many of these felons can't be trusted with firearms, then why are they allowed back into society at all?
