Teachers in San Francisco and nearby Oakland, California, are demanding their school districts take more COVID-19 precautions amid the surge of omicron, with some members allegedly threatening walkouts.

...More than 700 people have signed an online petition calling for a "sickout" Thursday.

"Omicron breaks through vaccines and boosters and has a short incubation period. We need regular mandatory testing for all employees and students to ensure that major outbreaks do not occur, especially BEFORE we return to sites," the petition states. "Everyone in schools must be screened, and if ‘we can’t afford it,’ we shouldn’t be opening at all."...

... Oakland Unified teachers and staff... demands include two weeks of remote learning; the "mass purchase and distribution of N95/KN95 masks for all staff and students"; weekly PCR testing for all staff and students; retroactive extension of COVID-19 leave between Nov. 7, 2021, and June 20, 2022; a meeting with the Oakland Education Association (OEA) bargaining team; HEPA filters in all cafeterias and large spaces; and more....

...Most California public schools were closed for a year between March 2020 and March and April 2021....

Teacher demands do not reflect reality. Bear in mind that:
1. SFO is over 80% fully vaccinated.
2. over 70% of students over 12 have been vaccinated as of Dec 15, 2021.
3. some school districts in Calif paid teachers up to a $1,000 bonus to get vaccinated even before vaccines were mandated by Public Health Order in August 2021 - 6 months ago.
4. the state has already paid teachers to work from home and accrue senority, sick and vacation credits for an entire year.
5. It is not the responsibility of children to protect adults who refuse to protect themselves.

Under existing Calif law, following exposure to a known infected, an asymptomatic vaccinated or prior recovered, does not need to isolate; a mask and 6-ft distancing is required. An unvaccinated asymptomatic tests at day 5 following contact with a known infected, and returns to work at day 7 with the mask/6ft rule. Symptomatic is the same as any other sick person - stay home until symptoms are gone. Under the Health Order, unvaccinated are already accommodated employment by allowing for mandatory once-a-week testing.

The teachers's unions demanded to be at the head of the line for vaccines.

They got their way.

That wasn't good enough.

They demanded that all students be masked muzzled.

They got their way

And now THAT isn't good enough!

Stay away from those teachers.
Stay away from those schools.

So they’re going to fake being sick to protest people being sick. Why would anyone send their kids to these sanctimonious bone heads.

These public-school teachers are going to war against the parents and the students. The local governments that employ them need to start channeling Ronald Reagan and referring to those teachers as “air traffic controllers.”

Remember when the South Africans who discovered it made a very emphatic point to say Omicron was very mild and pretty much nothing to be concerned about?

We see what’s happened to it since the Leftist media got hold of it.

It is a desperate attempt to keep the Democrats in control. But it is falling on its face.

teachers have gotten used to doing no work from home and getting paid - they are not going to give that up without a fight.

Do to them what Reagan did to Air Traffic Controllers - and make sure they never pollute another classroom with their presence again...
