"If this is the face of the GOP now they’re dead and it’s time for a new party."

The GOP died on January 6th.

What a surprise. Pence was a real weasel and I never knew why people here liked him. I especially didn’t know why Trump trusted him, which he seemed to do.

I guess it was like Reagan picking Bush 41 as a running mate. He had to appease the RINOs.

Democrats would love Pence to be the nominee because he doesn’t have a chance. He’s a loser and democrats love him.

Don’t be overconfident.

They were startled, and then frightened by the size of the Trump movement.

They are desperate to return to “normalcy”, for which Pence or Cruz, or even !Jeb would be perfect.

And remember, “normalcy” for them means being bottoms for the Democrat tops (sorry), but that way they at least get some of the spoils and have their perversions and crimes erased.

What they cannot tolerate is the next Trump, or a better Trump, someone who would walk away from the swearing-in, cancel the inaugural ball, take up residence in the WH bunker or a remote location, and hit the gas that very day to eliminate the structures that ruined Trump’s Presidency.

I can only assume that he relied on recommendations from the RINO swamp dweller crowd for his VP pick.

It's less complicated.

He looked on winning the nomination like a hostile takeover in business.

Buy the stock, get the options, fire the board, walk in Monday morning and the managers line up to kiss the ring and get new orders.

The swamp is nothing like that. Nothing at all.

Every time he said, "Drain the swamp", another elected Republican swore before whatever demon they pray to to see him destroyed.

HOW ON EARTH could the Republican majority in Congress approve of, go along with, fund and stand aside for the Mueller/Weissman investigation?

He never, ever should have tried to be a Republican (which he obviously is not) after he took his hand off the Bible.

He trusted them, or thought he could buffalo them, and they stabbed him in the back.

The way Trump did it is the only way he could have won the election. It's now our job to kick out the Anti-Trumpers from the Party and mold the GOP into our image.

"They were startled, and then frightened by the size of the Trump movement."

They're still "startled". Trump's (Bannon/Miller/et al) new Youngkin Strategy that paid off immediately is exactly why 25 House Democrats are appropriately pissing off into the wind for 2022, because they have been told by their handlers/pollster/mandarins/spouses that given the success of the Youngkin Strategy, Trump can now directly campaign for MAGA candidates in 2022, yet use the Youngkin Strategy with less-MAGA candidates.

If 2022 is another 2010, then Trump's restoration to the White House in 2024 is a fait accompli.

The real fear of that scenario on the Left is palpable. Why? The Democrats pride themselves on their ability to peer into the 2-year, 5-year, 10-year, 20-year timeline, and certainly their 2-year peerage is without peer: witness the electoral fraud of 2020.
