In an effort to discourage wasteful water practices such as hosing off driveways or allowing irrigation water to run down streets, California water officials have imposed new drought rules for cities and towns throughout the state.
The regulations, adopted Tuesday by the State Water Resources Control Board, prohibit overwatering yards, washing cars without a shutoff nozzle, hosing down sidewalks or watering grass within 48 hours after rainfall....
Violators could face fines of up to $500.

Too sensible. California leaders don’t want to hear it.
What happens when he winter snows melt?
Does that include them dumping water into the ocean?
As with everything else, control, not the alleged issue of concern, is the goal.

Violators will be crushed by arctic icebergs breaking off and slamming into them.
In the 60s posters (wall ones, not us) showed a couple of hippies and said Save Water. Shower With A Friend.
Just think. If Californians won’t be able to wash they will smell the same as the thousands of derelicts and illegals they used to complain about in San Francisco and elsewhere.
And no “hosing down driveways to clean them” or in this case to clear HIV laden used syringes and excrement off the San Francisco sidewalks and streets. Just live with it.
The drought is over...much the same as COVID...and the Democrats can’t let it go.
“As with everything else, control, not the alleged issue of concern, is the goal.”
Yes.
What Happens, the water runs off into the ocean because CA hasn’t expanded their reservoir capacity in something like 25+ years.
I thought that to fight Covid, you have to wash hands regularly with soap for at least 25 seconds... does that count as wasting water?
How much water is wasted on “It’s a Small World” at Disneyland?
Becoming an Abortion Sanctuary cautions that God may have just had enough of California.
aside from taxes, gun control, corrupt schools, climate nonsense, gas prices, illegal invasion, biological denial, homosexual promotion, etc...
Illegals? Immigrants of all types are a drain on the resources. Water supply alone. But just keep encouraging immigrants. I’m not sure how legal status would affect water supply or demand.
I find it ridicualous that conservatives say that they are against ILLEGAL immigration. So, democrats make all immigration legal, come by land, sea or air. Open doors to all. Become a citizen by simply filling out a form with name and address. All perfectly legal. You for that? No more illegal immigration to be against.
This at a time when the Sierras are loaded with snow.
Haha, that’s too much!
Where is that, Brussels? :)
Or golf courses. Some years back, my county did a water restriction order and you couldn’t water your lawn or outside plants (unless you used “bath” water). The golf courses were exempt... and they watered their lawns all night long.
Does that include San Fran?
50 years ago my mother told me she met a man at a business party in Texas. They were talking and he said he had just moved from California to Texas. When she asked why he had decided to move, he told her he loved gardening and California was wonderful for growing his roses. One day, as he was planting rose bushes, a tax assessor came by and told him that the value of his property was being increased because of the rose bushes. While the taxman was still there, the man pulled out the bushes and made plans to move to Texas. California is beautiful when it rains and there aren’t smoky fires, but the government has long been repressive.
75 years.
