Navy CAPT. Oy, the press these days.
Eh. Why start being accurate now?
Interesting. She’s an aviator by trade.
Congratulations Captain. Serve us well and make us proud.
all so annoying....
thanks for the pix, Yo-yo :)
I’m sure she’s smart because she sure wouldn’t be able to get through life on looks.
I’ll bet it can’t stay in its traffic lane.
Congratulations and good luck Captain Bauernschmidt! Fair winds and following seas!
Hell hath no fury like a woman scored who commands a nuclear carrier.
Did she used to be a dude?
CBS new last night herralded the new woman commander of the USS Constitution in Boston Harbor.
She must be very good at supervising dusting and mopping?
At some point in time these titles will just be “Navy Captain”, and not “female Navy Captain.” The caveat “Female” alludes to a deluted standard by which Navy Captains are trained to and judged by.
Is she the very best person for the job? In today’s world, it’s doubtful. Look at our current military leadership who are busy trying to drum Navy Seals out of the military. The military doesn’t seem to put a great deal of emphasis on competence these days.
What a relief it’s a real woman!!!
How do you determine that? What is the criteria for guaranteeing that someone is the best person for the job?
That would be a plus in my mind.
"Congratulations, Capt. Amy Bauernschmidt -what an accomplishment!"
Rather, while thank God for women as Margaret Thacter in lack of conservative men, and also celibacy can be the call for some in Christ, yet overall the exalted role of women is mainly that of bearing and raising children in marriage - not on The Pill - which they are uniquely designed to do, and with men being in leadership, which sometimes the noble women must force them to do. There are always exceptions but that does not make the norm.
But here we do not have a Amy Coney Barrett, but woman with a secret personal life - nothing to find about marriage, children to find - and who is exalted as a leader of a carrier. And I am not lusting to rule over women (and like to help them) but just standing for Bible teaching. In 1994, during her senior year, Congress repealed the law preventing women from serving on combat ships or planes.
