FDIC Chairman Jelena McWilliams announced her resignation Friday in an open letter addressed to President Biden, just weeks 'after' she warned of a "hostile takeover" of the agency by Democrats.
McWilliams was appointed to the position in 2018 under former President Trump. Her resignation will be effective Feb. 4.
McWilliams wrote in her op-ed. "Never before has a majority of the board attempted to circumvent the chairman to pursue their own agenda.".."This conflict isn’t about bank mergers. If it were, board members would have been willing to work with me and the FDIC staff rather than attempt a hostile takeover of the FDIC internal processes, staff and board agenda."

BTTT
meaning your money is not going to be protected from the great steal
Commies gotta commie.
Kevin McCarthy just yawns as he retrieves the morning paper for roommate Frank Luntz....
So, a Republican appointee responds to a hostile take over attempt by...resigning?
Yup, that sounds like the usual GOP battle plan to me.
Well since she warned the GOP weeks prior I tend to think she got sip zero support or a willingness of anybody to act on what she said.
So instead of fighting to her very last moment, she just quits instead. Another fine Trump pick.
Of course not....people who successfully carry off a coup aren’t going to protect anyones money but their own.
Well Her backing should be the GOP.....obviously they weren’t interested.
Coming soon to a supermarket near you!
Welcome to 2022!
Why back a quitter?
When people want backing how can they be assured they will get it if they don’t show that they will fight?
Same thing for Republicans.
How do they justify their support if they don’t fight?
Will be interesting to see how the press actually informs the public about this.....though we can pretty much gauge just how that will be.
Doesn’t resigning just make the takeover easier?
You have got to be kidding.....I’ll not comment further to such a silly post.
Glad you got the ironic ridiculous thinking of this resignation.
Not if it’s already a done deal. She’s been fighting it since Biden took office.
But from the outside she can’t even sound the alarm. This one might be lost, but it seems like surrender on a larger scale.
Because you have no argument beyond calling it silly.
But those who don’t fight should get no support.
