That’s alright...I drink instant.

All seriousness aside...Taster’s Choice at Sam’s (large container) has gone up a buck and a half...maybe two dollars per container. I’m gonna start growing my own. Anybody know where I can buy an instant coffee bush?

I’ve been stocking up on Folgers and Maxwell House when it’s been on sale so I’m good for a year.

I’ve bought Ruta Maya (beans) from Costco for many years. It’s consistently $14.99 for a kilogram. Shade grown organic from Chiapas, Mexico. Roasted in Austin, Texas. Delicious.

COLD WEATHER seems to be a big part of the problem acc to this article from July

https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/coffee-cane-orange-crops-risk-temperatures-plunge-brazil-2021-07-29/

“Unusually cold weather in Brazil has already sent international prices for coffee and sugar higher and Friday was forecast to be the coldest day of the year, according to Marco Antonio dos Santos, a partner at weather consultancy firm Rural Clima.”

My heating bill is 25% higher, per killowatt hour (I have electric heat) than a year ago. My health insurance premium (for the same plan) is 15% higher than last year.

I buy my coffee from a couple of different sources. Ocean City Job Lots, ALDI and Spreeder and Earls out of Burlington VT, excellent brews and good flavor (Wife will only drink flavored coffee..)

All coffee is being affected. Duncan Donuts shot up from $6.00 to $7.72 last month.

Fertilizer has gone up 54% since the summer. Compute that into farmers’ crops and the price at the grocery store.

speaking of “donut coffee”. We bought three large cans at WM and gave to Freedom Farm Ministries here in town. They have program for substance abusers. You should have seen the joy in their faces.
