MOSCOW, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday the Nord Stream 2 undersea gas pipeline would help to calm a surge in European gas prices and was ready to start exports now a second stretch of the pipeline has been filled.

Nord Stream 2, completed in September but awaiting regulatory approval from Germany and the European Union, faces resistance from the United States and several countries including Poland and Ukraine, which say it will increase Russia's leverage over Europe.

"I'd like to congratulate Gazprom and your partners in Nord Stream 2 on the completion of work and the creation of this additional large trunk-route and that it is ready for work," Putin told a government meeting, attended by the head of Gazprom Alexei Miller.

“Nord Stream 2...awaiting regulatory approval from Germany and the European Union, faces resistance from...Poland...which say(s) it will increase Russia’s leverage over Europe.”

Considering how Europe (the EU) is treating Poland, they should SUPPORT the pipeline, as the pipeline enables Putin to knock some sense into the EU.

You don’t understand how Poles feel about Russians.

It’s best exemplified by this joke. “A Polish soldier comes across a German and a Russian soldier, which does he shoot first? The German, of course: Business Before Pleasure!”

American LNG export ships headed to Europe as of last week as European spot natural gas prices set a record.

“You don’t understand how Poles feel about Russians.”

Oh, I do, I know about the partitioning of Poland, for example. The problem is that Germany is re-running their WW2 occupation of Poland via the EU and this time it’s to PERMANENTLY end the Polish state. Russia, at least now, is much more in line with the Poles and their government.

As I see it, Poland has to either follow Western Europe into their certain death spiral (due to their repopulation program), or roll the dice with Russia. Not a great situation to be in, but there is only one choice, if they still want any chance of Poland being a Polish country in 50 years.

The mistake Poland made was not following through with Piłsudski’s Międzymorze plan to have a coalition of Central European States that could resist both Germany and Russia.

Not to worry. The Xiden administration has plans to stop that.

Russia, at least now, is much more in line with the Poles and their government.

Russia has been threatening Poland for years, telling them they're in the "crosshairs" for daring to arm themselves. Everything that Russia is today saying about Ukraine, they have already said about Poland, which is why Poland is rushing to expand its army. After Russia takes Ukraine, the Russian military will be right up against Poland's border, starting the problem all over again. More recently, they've been threatening Poland with Muslims and calling them human rights violators for wanting to protect their border.

Germany is a puppet of Russia and can be expected to undermine all efforts to fend off Russian aggression. I am fully confident that the government of Russia is filled with agents of the FSB.

Like the Russian saying: ‘Kurica nie ptica, Polsza nie zagranica’ - “A chicken is not a bird, just as Poland is not abroad”, basically saying that to them Poland is a part of Russia.

Oops, I meant, the government of Germany is filled with FSB agents.

Mama Merkel herself had a position in the youth communist league that is only given to true red believers/loyalists of the Soviet Union.

The communist left is openly pro-China and pro-Russia, seeing them as the way to topple the United States and end a “unipolar” world.

Nord Stream 2 pipeline “calms” gas prices.

Keystone pipeline destroys the planet.

They demand you believe them.

Yes, it would. It might also be ashamed to poke a bear with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world who just might be crazy enough to use them.
