My grandson is in the PICU unit at Riley’s children hospital in Indianapolis right now, which is the premiere children’s hospital in Indiana ran by IU.
He was born 3 weeks early, in fact his due date was yesterday. Poor little fella spend a few days in the NNICU unit after he was born because his lungs were playing catch-up as it was.
My daughter luckily happens to be a NNICU RN, and is a case manager at that hospital now. If she hadn’t have known exactly what to do after he stopped breathing while getting him there, well, I don’t want to think about that.
Turns out he has two viruses going after him right now, RSV and a coronaviruse, but not covid. My daughter is absolutely livid at her in-laws. They specifically asked if anyone was sick before they took him out over Xmas, and rather than disrupt their family plans on a perfect dinner they chose not to tell her that her FIL was dealing with an upper respiratory infection.
It’s not just covid you have to worry about with the itty-bittys, what is just a cold or sniffles can be a major incident with a newborn. My daughter will never forgive them for being so selfish and self-centered to ignore their wishes just so their plans would be disrupted.

The holidays and traveling around the past couple of weeks have given me the unpleasant opportunity to see the mainstream media more than my fair share. Every time I see fear porn statistics from these POSs it becomes obvious that they withhold some fact that gives perspective to their stats. Everyone should demand the raw numbers so they can understand what all this means. For instance, if one child was hospitalized last week and then a second child is hospitalized, you have a 100% percent increase in child hospitalizations. That sounds terrible if you don’t know the raw numbers, but it is only two children out of millions - essentially zero. By the way, it is not insensitive to children to damn their figures. They use statistics to make their argument. They are lying and that is what is to be damned, along with the abuse of millions of other children have suffered from the lies have told.
