The Democrats love the poor. The Democrats hate the poor.
And the poor in West Virginia? They’re at the bottom of the bucket, as Democrats see things.
Senator Joe Manchin, the moderate Democrat from West Virginia who is one of the last of that breed, has derailed Joe Biden’s beloved Build Back Better bill, a slop-bucket of progressive wish-fulfillment that would add trillions in new spending to our already-bloated federal budget and pile much more debt upon our already-considerable national heap. Senator Manchin thought it was a bad package, though he supported some of what was in it, and West Virginians thought …
As far as today’s Democrats are concerned, voting Republican is just one more pathology that afflicts the toothless hillbillies of their imagination. They are perplexed — or at least pretend to be perplexed — by the fact that there are poor and struggling Americans who do not instinctively turn to welfare-statism as the answer to their problems, who are uneager to sacrifice either their values or their liberties in exchange for a government check. Democrats have responded to this by elevating the needs of the relatively well-off to the top of their agenda, which is why they spend so much time talking about the terrible burden of student loans for young lawyers and underemployed Haverford graduates. You won’t hear them offer anything like a serious solution to the public-education crisis in Los Angeles or Milwaukee — those well-paid teachers are a core part of the Democratic base, and semi-literate high-school dropouts do not vote in large numbers.

They want to put the Deplorables into camps so that we can be dealt with. It’s pretty obvious.
Does everyone forget that this National Review author, Kevin Williamson, refereed to Deplorables in exactly the same way? Am I the only one who tends to remember these things?
It would have prefered "extremist" or "radical", but they do not have the alliteration.
“The most important domestic political development of the 21st century so far is the class-reversal of the Republican and Democratic parties, a trend that began in the 1990s with Bill Clinton and now has reached a state of genuine polarization. Democrats, once the party of poor farmers and working-class “white ethnics,” as we used to call them, have become the party of affluent, educated, metropolitan and suburban professionals — the people who once were critical to the Republican coalition.”
Debatable but poignant.
Slop bucket good term for all of Joe’s demands
Kevin got what he wanted last election.
Screw him

Hitler, Mussolini & Stalin, etc., are alive, active, and well in Washington, DC, USA!!! Their names have been changed but not their never ending thirst for 100% power, greed and control of the American people!!! The American Socialists & Communists are known these days in the USA as Democrats, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jill Biden, Hunter Biden and so on...!!! Sad days roll for these once wonderful, magnificent free United States of America.....no more!!! And Sadder days are coming...thanks to a very weak American public!!!
Williamson, and NRO, are scum.
The Democrats were all too happy to pretend to represent the poor and downtrodden…
…until the poor and downtrodden realized how they were being played and escaped the plantation.
And just like that, the poor and downtrodden became Nazi fascists.
I don’t agree that the American public is weak. About 80 million voted for Trump and the election was stolen. The Alphabet soup organizations are corrupt. The media is corrupt. The universities are left wing indoctrination camps. Are we supposed to take to the streets with hounds and lanterns?
National Review is unreadable. These people are exactly like the Democrats. They just pretend they’re different every few years for votes.
“The Snoot Party”...
Only maturity snobs need apply!
This Bushy is a Pathological liar and fraud along with the other
Rhino Koch Bros - Chamber of Crony capitalist elites at NRO .
You are not the only one. You beat me to it, though. When I see Kevin Williamson’s name on something I assume his majesty will be talking down to ignorant me and move on.

A semi-literate high-school dropout in Milwaukee is a great achievement in education here. Many drop out in grade school for the good life of car-jacking, armed robbery, looting, murder, pimping, ho-ing with free food and medical care in local jails and prisons, if they are unlucky enough actually get charged and have a high bail set (according to their financial circumstances).
You are absolutely correct. Democrat, Murderer, Criminal, Joe Biden could not have been elected as a dog catcher in a fair and honest election..period!!! This useless, greedy, power hungry, illegal human being, Democrat, Joe Biden, does not have one iota of executive experience in his low life body!!! End of story. Case Closed!!! Go figure!!!
The people from West Virginia, Arkansas, and Mississippi endure this kind of arrogant prejudice on a daily basis from the lefties and the snooty Hollywood types.
Senator Joe Manchin is pretty much a typical 1970s Democrat.
Joe Biden knows his type well.
