According to the school’s diversity page, there were songs that had been previously used that had a questionable past. One of the examples the school listed was “Jingle Bells.”
The school noted that other questionable songs were removed from the curriculum and “are no longer in our repertoire, and are replaced with more contemporary, and relevant content.”
The Beacon reports that the school’s decision was based on a 2017 article written by Boston University Professor Kyna Hamill. Hamill alleged she had found documents proving the song had first been performed publicly at a minstrel show in 1857.
When told of the primary school’s decision, the professor said she was stunned.
“I am actually quite shocked the school would remove the song from the repertoire. … I, in no way, recommended that it stopped being sung by children,” she told the newspaper. “My article tried to tell the story of the first performance of the song, I do not connect this to the popular Christmas tradition of singing the song now.”

The wokesters might have also noted that James L. Pierpont, the composer of “Jingle Bells,” served in the Confederate army and wrote songs such as “Strike for the South.”
Sooo... all it takes to ban a song is have it performed by a minstrel show?!

Yesterday was an article where some woman was traumatized because her son heard the word Christmas and wondered if they were the only ones who did not celebrate Christmas. Evil, woke woman.

The first time I heard that was on the Simpsons. Since then, I have a very hard time singing the original lyrics... and that's why "I" do not sing that song.
They did mot just ban Jingle Bells. They banned Christianity.
There have been pockets of black culture who have rejected all things white for a long time, work being one of them.
That said, who care if a school in NY won’t sing Jingle Bells. Most of the Christmas revelry has nothing to do with Christ. Jesus didn’t dwell with those who rejected him.

The real problems are unaccountable teachers, administrators and school boards, so-called “Progressives” (substitute Leftists, Socialists or Communists) who do as they please.
How about the muslim version jingle bombs
Perhaps they could incorporate some gunfire in chorus to make it a bit more....inclusive.
