A stupid and scummy little man, but this is common in politics - ESPECIALLY with career politicians.

"If the only thing standing between getting voting rights legislation passed and not getting passed is the filibuster, I support making the exception of voting rights for the filibuster."

I speak partial politician. Is he saying the change in filibuster rules would only apply to this and nothing else?

Just imagine millions voting in your local elections. Printer cartridges, toner, and copier paper will be in short supply come election time.

The Senate is supposed to represent the legislative interests of the states, not the whims of the people (that's what the House is for).

I can't imagine that any state would want to give up its oversight of its own elections.

This is clearly a single-party issue that is suicide for state legislative authority.

“ Biden was asked if he were prepared to accept fundamental changes to the filibuster rules in order to pass a voting rights bill.”

Except Biden is not a Senator and has zero influence with people who are.

Is that the bill that would force every state to allow the kind of fraud the ‘Rats used to steal 2020? Manchin truly *will* be the Republic’s superhero if he blocks that. BBB was bad, to be sure, because it will hasten the collapse of the Ponzi scheme known as the federal debt. However, letting the ‘Rats run amok with mail fraud voting etc. would end with civil war and/or dictatorship!

Clever...trying to make the new Filibuster rule good for only the Voting Rights Legislation. In other words...an exception...not a change.

The only way the Dems would eliminate the filibuster is if they are planning a big disastrous move that would destroy the country before the next elections
to stop Republicans from using the power after next November.
