A top South African doctor tells Israeli television that the Omicron variant appears much less deadly than the Delta strain of coronavirus.
"People are not dying as you have seen with Delta," Dr. Angelique Coetzee says in an interview with Kan public broadcaster. "Delta---it's totally different."
Coetzee, who heads the South African Medical Association, says cases have begun declining since December 9.
"We don't see that doubling or increase we had seen right in the beginning," she says. "Maybe it will be a different picture in the rest of the world but for now the caseloads in the hospitals are very low."...

I was just thinking if the Democrats/Biden are using Covid as a path towards the “reset” they were talking about?
The last article I read about South Africa is that the omicron virus outbreak resulted in no deaths and mild infections. Is someone cooking the books.
Getting the information out and communicating with others should be done to discredit the crackdowns underway and those to come.

SA deaths at a rate equal to around 550 in the US.
SA had 21,000 plus positive tests today and that’s down from the peak some days back of over 35,000 in one day.
Life Expectancy in SA is 64.8, vs 78 in the US. This is overwhelming all other effects.
They are young. They die before Omicron can get them.
They didn’t need to skip over the Xi Variant. It was Xi from the beginning and it worked . It clinched stealing the election for his puppet to replace Trump. Imagine starting a war and few people even believing a fight has begun!

Just a bit if context. That day with 35k cases included a backlog of data from the previous couple of days.
Also a comparison with our previous peak is useful. In July we had about 7000 in ICU with over 1500 on ventilators. The figures at the end of last week were about 600 in ICU with around 150 ventilated.
Another interesting point is that many who are in hospital WITH Covid were only identified when they were admitted for surgery or other medical reasons and were tested as is the norm nowadays.

the UK supposedly has 7 whole deaths now- although they are likely claiming that people who died WITH Omicron died FROM omicron, just to get the numbers up there just like they have doen with covid-

Many days there are well under 100 deaths.
500 was their typical peak this past winter (for them) of July timeframe. The 100ish they are logging is off of a typical daily minimum of 10.
If they are trending up, in summer (for them), in such a young population, there will need to be an explanation. Of course the 500 daily covid deaths of their winter also needs an explanation (and that explanation is the young don’t die).
