Omicron should be a cause for celebration, not fear. Its symptoms are mild to nonexistent in the majority of the infected, especially the vaccinated; hospitalization rates are over nine times lower than for previous COVID strains; deaths are negligible.
The only public health experts whom the media quote are those determined to put the most dire spin on Omicron.
There are apparently no circumstances that would warrant a less-than-totalitarian response in advance of any actual disaster. The yearning for more draconian lockdowns and more control over the private sector is palpable.
The South African data should lead any coverage of Omicron, yet it has barely been reported. Though only 27 percent of that country is fully vaccinated, less than 2 percent of new cases are requiring hospitalization.
But case counts are a particularly deceptive measure of pandemic severity, when so many of the new cases are mild to asymptomatic.

Talked with a guy who owns an auto repair shop. Has several doctor clients that confide in him. They have made it abundantly clear that they are being arm twisted to STFU regarding the truth. Their licenses hang in the balance.
My personal doctor has told me 9 out of 10 people he treats for CV19 are vaxxed. He believes in immunity. He has clearly been exposed to the CV19 from his patients in the past 18+ months. No Vax for him.
I’ve noticed the same in stores here in Scottsdale. A month ago very few masks; now I’m definitely in the minority again while grocery shopping.
The “little O” variant announces the end of the pandemic. When “little O” becomes the dominant one, the pandemic will be effectively over. The public will not tolerate lockdowns and jailings for sniffles for very long.
It will take a while for the authorities to let go of the scare tactics, the beatings, the jailings, the fining, the firing, the ostracizing.
Many in the public have grown attached to the covid panic status and will scream loudly as the rest of us let go of covid.

Here is a dumb question.. How does the test determine if it is omicron? ? When did that change? Can someone explain that please?
I’m no expert but the original sars DNA sequences are patented (7220825) as well as diagnosis and treatment protocols related to the virus SARS-1. So my thinking is they use the DNA sequence to identify variations. That way they keep it all in the family and get the benefit of the patents on diagnose, treat via mRNA, etc. It doesn’t look like they base lined the original patent DNA against the common cold covid DNA sequences so at some point i think we will be getting boosters for the common cold variants. which omicron may very well be.

Nope. There is a way to measure that. It’s called HALE.
It’s the healthy life expectancy. Health Adjusted Life Expectancy. Meaning, how long prior to death is health deteriorating or disability arriving.
The US has a conventional LE of about 78. HALE is 66. A difference of 12 yrs. The last 12 yrs are not totally comfortable.
South Africa has a HALE of 56.2 and conventional LE of 64.8. Difference is only 8 yrs. They are less fragile than the US, as of course they would be at a younger age.
Acid rain was one of those things used to terrify East coast urban liberals. You get the simpletons in NYC and Boston hysterical about something then the government extension known as the media tells everyone that its going to destroy the earth. Simpletons all the way out to Portland get hysterical. The government then provides the solution in the form of more control and less freedom.
Acid rain went away quietly because it was discovered that it was mostly caused by trees. Yknow, those things liberals are always trying to save. Mostly Appalachian trees, so trees “out there in the wilderness” where “nobody lives” and it was falling mostly on Eastern cities...
Or at least, they were the only ones who cared. Thats the important part, “cared”. Its the belief that these things are happening that brings the money in and thats why these hobgoblins are always attacking the urban centers. Thats where the money is.
There are a lot of these things that terrify the imaginations of the urban liberal (acid rain, over population, anthropogenic global warming, cooties, etc) that they would know are false if they ever left town and stopped watching their Mockingbird programming. And since they cant see behind the scenes and everything appears for them like magic in the stores they are more susceptible to lies like famine the government is trying to create when in reality it is entirely fabricated by those attempting to acquire more power and control.

Omicron sounds very similar to the flu. Mild symptoms for most people, negligible deaths, but quite contagious.
SARS was a coronavirus. (BTW, guess what Fauci said in a peer-reviewed article would be an effective treatment against SARS. Hydroxychloroquine.)
The Wuhan virus is related to SARS. Even the common cold is a “coronavirus.” They’re all related.
Yet we’re supposed to panic about this one, because our Chinese masters want it that way.

I think I know. I believe these ppl want to push this as long as possible so as to keep remote voting in place. If they can get to the mid terms with enough fear, they will have their voting irregularities covered via the virus.
