Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) claimed that the U.S. economy under President Joe Biden is "flourishing" and the "best economic recovery" since former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's administration, prompting Republicans to hit back at her "false narrative."
"We have an economy that is flourishing. We have literally the best economic recovery since FDR," Stevens alleged in a fundraising Zoom call last Wednesday.
"If you want a job today, you’re going to make more money than you would’ve ever been able to in the last 20 years," she continued.
Stevens' comments come amid rising inflation and underwhelming job growth throughout the country, and with the unemployment rate in Michigan being just 5.9 percent, a number that exceeds the national unemployment average of 4.2 percent.
Republicans blasted the Democrat over her remarks, with fellow Michigan Rep. Lisa McClain (R) saying Tuesday that comments from the Democratic Party on the economy are out of touch with reality.
"I'm not sure what alternate universe the Left is living in, but Americans are struggling now more than ever," McClain said in a statement to Fox News. "Inflation is the highest it's been in 39 years at 6.8%, employers are struggling to fill 11 million open jobs and the supply chain crisis is causing store shelves to remain empty through the holiday season."

The Associated Press projects that Democratic candidate and incumbent Haley Stevens has won the Michigan U.S. House race for District 11, defeating Republican challenger Eric Esshaki.
In a narrow victory called on Thursday morning, Stevens surpassed Esshaki by more than 10,000 votes.

That is today’s economy. You have to run faster and faster just to stay in the same place. And, if you ever stop running, you fall behind.
Well, from her perspective, she went from obscurity and probably making no money to a $174,000/year job and all the graft and greed she could envision. Got it in 2019 and HAS to say #$^T like this because she OWES the DNC and Soros, et al.

So FDR was in office from 1931 to 1945. The Great Depression really didn’t end until the war ended. So the economic boom got underway in the fall of 1945.
So yes I guess this is about the same as under FDR, except the next world war will leave the planet radioactive for years.

Wife received a 1% COLA boost on her job last year. No boost is expected for the next year.
I’m making about the same as I did 10 years ago. Of course, I am now on S.S. & have a lot less expense. That’s the only thing saving me.
If you're on SS, you are not affected by H1 Visa holders and illegal aliens. It's our children and grandchildren who are being robbed of jobs, which are being taken by foreigners.
I blame both parties for this travesty! Country club republicans and democrats love importing foreign workers.
