Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP would “certainly welcome” West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin “if he was so inclined” to flip parties.
Manchin has been bashed by his partisan colleagues for pledging to vote against President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better plan.
Speaking on Fox News’ “The Guy Benson Show” podcast, the Kentucky senator called Manchin’s no vote “the single greatest favor Joe Manchin could give this country,” amid rising inflation costs.
McConnell said he wasn’t sure how Manchin would vote but is pleased that his decision effectively ends any chance that the bill will get the 50 Democratic votes it requires in the evenly divided Senate.

Shut up dummy.
Mitch passing the bill with the 16 Repubs is why we are here.
The BIGGER question:
Does Manchin wish to JOIN McConnell????
No, your antiMitch bias is in this instance ridiculous.
West Virginia is poor but has money. At least WV has wealthy business interests that are run by Democrats. They are the source of Manchin’s money and power.
He is acting in accord with their wishes and direction
Anything to save Turtle would be welcome to Turtle.
CONTROL and continual backstabbing his base like 2016-2020! Worthless POS prune! Besides Manchin will not cross over to the Republican side because his party is already indicating that they will water it down or completely rename the bill or pass another stimulus bill to out pace the omicron scare! AND THE STUPID PEOPLE ARE ALREADY FALLING FOR IT! Ugh!
How ironic of Democrat Mitch to welcome Manchin
In 322 days Mr Manchen will become as useless as teats on a bore hog!!!
Mitch just wants to get Manchin inside the GOPe fold so that he can get his mind right, and stop Manchin from blocking any more dem legislation.
“What does Mitch get out of this?”
Majority Leader?
It would make sense. Probably his only chance of winning reelection in 2024 is in a three way race.
And become a Lisa MurCOWski...
