Dementia patients’ field of view shrinks (like tunnel vision) and I’m pretty sure I have read that they stop registering speech coming from people they can’t see (like reporters yelling questions at them from afar).
Of course he could still be faking it. That recent comment he made to someone about a football team was suspicious for a guy who otherwise seems pretty out of it.
They are war gaming and making final decisions for tomorrow’s speech.

Actually, Joe disappears about every 48 hours as a matter of habit. One of his favorite hiding places is his Delaware compound, where he can avoid facing reality, eat cookies, watch cartoons and collect/review his 10% from family and the CCP!
Don’t be so mean! He just wants to spend some quality time with his illegitimate #7 missing Granddaughter over the holidays. Wants to get to ‘know her better,’ don’t ‘cha know.

It was DOA to begin with.
My life was completely put on tilt in 2019; the company I had worked for over 2 years closed their doors at noon on a Wednesday in early August. A few weeks later my youngest kid dislocated her knee playing basketball in school. Early September my wife had stroke, and a week later died. I had to scramble to get MRI and surgery done while still under insurance, planning a memorial service, transport of her body for funeral (in another state), and so on.
Then, 2020 came with the China Flu. We all know how that went. The best President in my lifetime (50+ years) lost with a record number of votes - because the worst politician in my lifetime somehow received more votes than anyone in the history of the country, many coming in after 2, 3 AM.
Then, 2020 (Won) came around, and we thought the China Flu was going to go away (I didn’t), the economy is tanking, inflation is at worse than Carter era levels. And, I just lost a great friend (not to China Flu, walking his dog, slipped/tripped, fell and hit his head).
Now, we’re going into 2020 (Too!), and I just don’t have a damn to give anymore. Honestly, at this point, if aliens landed, bringing back dinosaurs, revealing how the pyramids were made, and oh yeah - Jesus coming back and fixing this for the 1,000 year reign, I would not be surprised.
2021 beat out 2020. Craziness is trending up.
