If you want to become a billionaire—and you didn’t happen to be born into the Saudi royal family—there are a few ways to get the job done. You could come up with one seriously good idea, like a new computer operating system or social network, and then build it into a gigantic company. Or you could take the Warren Buffet route, making a decades-long series of shrewd, low–risk investments, and then watch the wealth slowly trickle in. And then there’s what Elon Musk did.
Musk made his money differently than most of today’s famous billionaires. Instead of one amazing idea, he had several good ones. And instead of a bunch of clever, safe investments, he made just a few spectacularly risky ones. But there was a method to his madness, even if it wasn’t apparent to many at the time. The sum total of those bets made Musk the richest private citizen on the planet this year, and their world-altering effects—from privately-launched space missions to an electric vehicle titan that has left the auto industry desperate to catch up—have landed Musk as TIME’s 2021 Person of the Year.

Yep. Musk earned every dollar he has ever made.
Bravo to Musk.
Anybody that is pro space exploration is OK with me.
It’s hard to be woke and be going out of business so might as will do your job for a change. However ideologues will burn down the ship in the middle of the ocean so I never know when they become lucid.
I generally like Musk, but his true stroke of genius was engineering a coal power car in such a manner that the smokestack was relocated miles away.
He was privileged to live in Erica when it was still free
He was privileged to live in AMERICA when it was still free
.
That may be the post of the day my friend. #1 post of this thread for sure. Cheers!
You’d think he could afford a better haircut.
>>Yep. Musk earned every dollar he has ever made.
Bravo to Musk.
Except for the $5Billion+ dollars he took as welfare from the US taxpayers.
The first one I’ve agreed with in a long time. I wish I was younger. I’d like to go to Mars.
Musk and Bezos have done more to change the way we buy things and what we buy than any other single individuals since Sam Walton, Sears and Robuck.
Paypal made it safe to sell things to and from private individuals thousands of miles apart over EBAY.
Amazon made it possible to buy ANYTHING and have it delivered to almost anywhere within 5-7 business days. It changed the way we purchase almost anything.
Musk is one of the most brilliant and successful Americans ever to live. He rivals Edison. Vanderbilt, and Ford in his vision to project need and build products.
The diversity of his genius excels his predecessors except Edison.
Better investment with taxpayer money than the money the Government gave
Salendra, the Solar Panel company that went bankrupt.
I am surprised Time picked Musk, after he moved his operations to Texas from Californicatia.
Even a broken clock can be right once a day.
Because of fake president Geriatric Joe’s low approval rating and the disasterous record of their lefty heros and heroines who would usually be displayed by Time, they have avoided naming any Democrat related person becaie it would exacerbate their unpopularity as a magazine and its unpopular propaganda machinery.
Conclusion: Times revenue is way down and they are forced to do something right.
I am sure they wanted very badly to name Cheatin’ Joe Biden or “Knee Pads” Harris as person of the year, but they likely would have been out of business in a few months if they had done so.
Fauci is crying in his bat soup that he wasn’t picked
LOL. Pretty sure most of his wealth came from GUmmint Grants.
Why don’t u prove it.
