Thinking he is more likely to blow up the Republican Party.

This is exactly why I will work tirelessly to see him elected for a 3rd time.

I mostly agree with the author. DeSantis would be a great successor to Trump, and would win.

without question, it is possible to be a decisive, powerful leader without burning so many bridges, burying so many relationships, and alienating so many people along the way.?????
???

I guess This person doesn’t understand that the other side burned the bridges.

There isn’t any getting along with these people.
Pelosi was unrelenting in her hatred

“[You] people’s attempt to not cuss just takes the grunt out of hundreds of years of verbal traditions...”

It’s a good rule. I must self edit often which is not easy for this native suburban New Yorker, Tge alternative is obvious when reading comments on CFP and such. Horrible images. It devolves quickly.

Are you kidding?

They’re not going to let him out of Florida.

“it will be best in 2024 for another conservative leader with backbone and conviction to take the lead. “

Go pound sand, they cheated and you want to give them what they want.

... another conservative leader with backbone and conviction to take the lead.

Like who? Even DeSantis is a squish compared to Trump.

DeSantis would be a great successor to Trump, and would win.

Why are you so certain DeSantis could handle the 24/7 negative branding of the leftist machine? They will make up, and repeat incessantly, the same kind of lies that have destroyed everyone else in their march to power. Heck, Reagan barely made it to the end of his second term. Bush senior and junior didn't escape destruction, and were co opted.

Trump was the only one who fought them off successfully, and the only one who has shown himself strong enough to withstand the onslaught. He has earned the right to do what he can to destroy the left. He knows how. He's going to decide what is best, not this moron of an author who should know better.

The left is an incomprehensible combination of evil and stupid that needs to be destroyed, needs to be fought, and so far, Trump is the only one who has stood his ground. In light of that, and what the left has brought down on us all, I don't care about his flaws. And neither should anyone else. The author is delusional.

Actually, people are known by their enemies. Trump has all the right ones.

Articles like this are written with motive, in this case to undermine Trump's claim for the nomination. When we respond to the article we should keep that in mind, that is, the arguments advanced against Trump are contrived for purpose.

Nevertheless, the argument should be analyzed on its merits.

First Trump's "greatest" accomplishment is to say to the world "I will not play your games". This is not advanced except meretriciously so that the real accomplishments of Trump can be discounted with a back of hand and swatted away with, "Trump simply brings too much collateral damage with him."

Yes, Trump rings collateral damage but that is one thing when compared to a limited standard of accomplishment and quite another if compared to his mission as Savior of the nation vis-à-vis China. If one accepts that Trump's entire presidential career can be summed up by telling the world to go to hell then the author's subjective judgment is an arguable if not tremendously persuadable opinion. But if one says that but for Donald Trump the nation would be dangerously close to succumbing to Chinese infiltration, subornation and ultimate dominance, his leadership rivals Churchill's leading Britain in its finest hour. Without Trump, we surely would be living in under existential threat, because of his presidency we might yet survive, without a new Trump presidency we might yet succumb.

The author outlines the reaction by Trump to Israeli President Netanyahu and, if true, the anecdote is damning. Netanyahu owes Trump no loyalty beyond frankness dealings, his loyalty must be to the state of Israel and anyone who deals with a head of state on any other bases is a fool. I hope the anecdote is not accurate. The knock on Trump has always been is narcissism and he ought to tread extremely carefully in this area or he will simply arm his adversaries.

The author is correct, it was unnecessary for Trump alienate so many people so unnecessarily but for the author to claim that this characteristic disqualifies him for reelection simply does not follow.

As of today, even at his advanced age due to be even more advanced by January 2025, Trump is the best man alive for the office. He saw and continues to see the issues more clearly than any other politician, he has demonstrated that he will hold to his word, he has performed brilliantly on the issues, he kept us at peace and secure and he managed the economy well. Few presidents can match that score.

Trump is not the only man who can effectively lead America......it is possible to be a decisive, powerful leader without burning so many bridges, burying so many relationships, and alienating so many people along the way.

By roughing up the beloved Trump so conspicuosly, I truly fear Brown has resurrected old calumnies about "hidden agendas and where loyalties lie."

The only other politician that could be a president that I could vote for is DeSantis. But hey, do a Trump/DeSantis ticket.

A dream ticket but Trump would have to change his residency. The Pres. and VP cannot be from the same state.

No matter who the GOP candidate is in 2024, the left is going to use the same playbook that they did against Trump. So, it matters not.

This person says what I think. Trump would serve the country best by identifying and supporting conservative candidates and staging many conservative rally.

Not by running for president again.

Stepping aside would be his most courageous move.

Again putting the country first and now putting his family first

If Trump would work covering DeSantis by addressing the attacks. If Trump could team with him they could be unstoppable. Not in traditional pres and vp but as pres and Trump rallier. And after the win Trump cleaning out the various agencies. One at a time.

We could have a new country.

I agree thus why would they change when they won? The one
major difference this time is the voting procedure of mail
voting will be reduced, hopefully. People can personally go
to the polls and vote. IMO the mail voting was what made the
difference and needs to be used only in very select situations.
