Bob Newhart was telling in an interview the story of him being on some show or movie. After doing the first little scene the Director said something like “Okay - Bob, lets try to do those lines without stammering.”

Newhart replied something like “That stammer has bought me three homes - why would I stop now!?” (The “stammer” is not natural to Newhart.)

Kimmel is a pretty good game-show host. Maybe that should be his permanent gig.

Modern Kimmel would stop the show and award extra points to the minority candidate while lecturing his opponents on white privilege.

Let me expand: Archie Bunker is NOT funny. Mel Brooks is funny.

Both are / were liberals.

Rob Reiner is NOT funny.. His father Carl, was funny.

Both are / were liberals.

Conservatives have a sense of humor that is NOT MEAN.

My working hypothesis is that Conservatism, by its very nature, can't be funny.

The same for socialism or communism. None of the -isms are defined by humor.

That being said, the are some very funny conservatives.
