You are taken in. I used to try and list the thousand reasons why EV’s are bad. I mean they are even horrible for the environment. But I can’t change any ones mind. Those who believe they are a good thing are brainwashed.

You have liberal cities who are now forcing commercial business to convert all their heat and hot water to electric as well. The power grid can’t handle 1% of this nonsense. And just imagine when the power grid goes down. NO heat, No movement. People dying from exposure. What an easy way for foreign country(or a shadow government) to beet us into submission. So if you want to know the real reason they a pushing this then there you have it. It is about control.

EV’s are complete nonsense given current power technology.

One point under-appreciated by naysayers is fuel availability. They insult EVs for using coal ("burning fossil fuels!") or sun ("unreliable!"), but that's a feature: I can source electricity on- or off-grid, energy extracted from coal, gasoline, propane, NG, nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, etc. ... vs ICE requiring & tolerating nothing* other than gasoline. Hoping to get a Cybertruck, I fully intend the solar tonneau cover - may only provide energy for 1-10 miles per day, but as backup transport it can literally be powered by just parking, enough to get to other energy sources.

(* - an edge case exists for distilling trees into gasoline equivalent. Great theory, don't know anyone who can.)

Ford has announced that they will stop taking reservations for the electric F150. 200,000 potential customers have already put down $100 each. https://www.theverge.com/2021/12/9/22826469/ford-f150-lightning-ev-deposits-reservations-closed

“So if you want to know the real reason they a pushing this then there you have it. It is about control.”

No, the real reaon car co’s are pushing EV’s is more profits.

GM said an EV will take a 1/3 of the labor -just think no more compplicated fuel systems, 9 speed transmissions, engines, air flow systems.

They use about 1/2 the parts of an ICE-no mufflers, radiators, air cleaners etc.

Thye will have minimal warranty$$$$ work. I read in `15 years we will have a 1/5 of the car techs we have now.

As Rush said follow the money. This has nothing to do with the environment.

EV’s are the ideal off the grid vehicle. Pop up a solar panel and charge your own vehicle. BTW co’s are working on home chargers that do just that.

For the life of me I have no idea why conservatives are not embracing EV’s.
EV’s are the ultimate FU to “Tha Man”, “The Establishment”, “Big Brother Gov’t” .

Pop up a large solar panel in your back yard and charge your own vehicle. No more relying on gas stations or a china shutting off the power grid. Companies are developing home charger that use solar panels.

The Ev’s are changing so rapidly. 5 years from now we will be amazed of the new developments.

The free market aftermarket always prevails.

Two of those runs and the car slowly limps to a charging station, or is dead on-the-spot.

And when the 5,000-20,000 dollar batter bank goes bad then you can just fix it with a tube of JD weld.

The federal gov’t currently requires the EV co’s warranty them for 10 years.

Tesla said their new battery coming up for production is going to last 15 years.

I’ve seen a thousand reasons why EVs are bad. Most are obsolete/misguided, remainder are irrelevant if your alternative is ICE.

Bad for the environment? No worse than making/assembling thousands of moving parts and powering it by noxious fluids hauled thousands of miles. Sure EVs have their environmental problems, and progress is being made on that (cobalt being eliminated from batteries, lithium mining converting to minimal-impact).

Current electric infrastructure can’t handle it? Power infrastructure - whatever the medium - is not static. Wasn’t all that long ago gas stations were relatively rare compared to now, and electrical service was made for much lower total power. Can also leverage other power sourcing, like running your own NG generator or roof solar.

Power grid goes down? Yes, blackouts happen. So do gas shortages (more often around here). I can put solar panels on my roof; when gasoline runs out, I’m not driving anywhere.

FORCING people to use electricity over other options is bad. That’s a matter of socialism being bad, not electricity. Use what works for you; I’ll keep my gas stove and get an EV.

Complete nonsense? They’re working very well for a LOT of people in this area; Teslas are among the most popular vehicles around here. They’re not perfect in all scenarios, but do very well for most.

YOU Cannot make steel or Aluminum without melting it...

And wind power & solar power cannot produce that kind of melting power.

For the life of me I have no idea why conservatives are not embracing EV’s.

The big thing conservatives have against them is the incredible amount of government interfering in the market in order to get them there. Without all those subsidies (going to mostly rich people), EVs would not nearly be in the position they currently are.

Better come up with a pretty design, because they won’t be selling very many of these as work trucks.

The "Electric Truck" is dead and the "Electric car is not doing so well.

The Battery train which gives up on a car after about 5 years makes it very hard to give up on the gasoline car.

It will cost a lot of $$$$ to replace the battery train on an electric car.

If they could come up with a system to swap out battery backs, they may be able to go mainstream.

Sort of like CHEP pallets, or Rhino propane tanks.

Fed gov’t requires ev companies to warrant batteries for 10 years.

Tesla is coming out with a new ‘lp” battery that last 15 years and is 100% recyclable.

Yeah, well here's the problem: the most expensive package will have 155kwh of capacity. That's 207 horsepower for one hour.

Sure, you could expend all that capacity in 30 minutes with a whopping 414 horsepower, but then your vehicle is dead. If you're thinking of trying to drive 400 miles, all you're gonna have to do is limit the truck's exertion to 25hp each hour for 8 hours. Good luck.

The testing company drove 467 miles on one charge.

The new Teslas do 421 miles on one charge and 187 miles on a quick 15 minute charge

The people who buy EVs deserve AOC’s Green New Deal, including the rolling blackouts and destruction of the middleclass.
