1. Alec said he and Halyna were new friends and collaborated frequently during the filming of Rust. "When I met her, I knew she had that spark," Alec described. "I knew she had that flint to her that she was going to get that day's work done and get the shots that she wanted."
4. During the scene Alec was shooting with the gun, the first assistant director allegedly declared "this is a cold gun." On film sets, that means there is no real ammunition in the gun. "When he's saying this is a cold gun, what he's saying to everybody on the set is 'you can relax,'" Alec explained.
6. Alec said when he was rehearsing the shot, Halyna was looking at a monitor and telling him which direction to point the weapon in: "She's guiding me through how she wants to hold the gun for this angle." 7. Alec claims he pulled the gun's hammer back as far as he could without cocking the actual gun, as instructed by Halyna. When he let go of the hammer, the gun went off.
17. Other actors, like George Clooney, have come out and said that Alec should have checked the gun himself before the scene. Alec said he was never taught to do that and that he has always trusted the armorer on set. "I was young and they'd say, 'One thing you need to understand is we don't want the actor to be the last line of defense against a catastrophic breech of safety with the gun.'"
"The actor's responsibility is to do what the prop armorer tells them to do," he said.

Is this from the Babylon Bee?
“When I met her, I knew she had that spark,” Alec described. “I knew she had that flint to her that she was going to get that day’s work done and get the shots that she wanted.”

Spark? Flint? Shots?
The Babylon Bee couldn’t have written a better narrative.
Then why is he going to all this trouble in the media?
He knows nobody believes him.
I’d say he’s been carefully coached to say stupid things.
For safety’s sake, no more Hollywood movies with guns.
If the Dem’s are consistent, that should be their position.
And they shouted that Trump thought he could shoot someone and get away with it. This idiot is proving that a liberal actor can do it in front of a camera and get away with it.

“The actor’s responsibility is to do what the prop armorer tells them to do,” he said.”
He’s confused, or intentionally deploying subterfuge.
The actor checking the gun is EXACTLY what you want as a LAST line of defense. Anyone else in the chain are the first, second, third, etc line of defense. By not having the person actually handling the gun included as one of the lines of defense it makes it less safe, not more. In this case, the lack of him checking was fatal. How on earth would anyone thinking that adding another level of checking would hurt safety?
What a dumbass he is, but I’m sure there will be plenty of low IQ types bobbling their heads in agreement.
Point 24: The girl shot and killed was about to do a film on pedophilia in Hollywood.
Effin liar......on moment he says he knew the gun went off then he says it was 45 minutes before he knew she was hurt.
He can say the sky is green but it doesn’t make it so. It was his responsibility to check the gun. Period.

I learned that over 70 years ago from my dad and never forgot it.
GUILTY! Not talking about his appearance either.
liberal logic
“‘One thing you need to understand is we don’t want the actor to be the last line of defense against a catastrophic breech of safety with the gun.’”
If I were trying to weasel out of criminal charges, I’d say something as dumb as this too.
I’m just the driver, checking the tires isn’t my responsibility.
Okay, one thing.
Baldwin could not “check the gun” without either unloading it or dropping the hammer on all six chambers.
This isn’t a revolver with a swing-out or break-open cylinder. If he opened the gate and spun the cylinder, all he would have seen were the cartridge bases. Unless the bases were somehow stamped in a way to show they were dummies, he wouldn’t be able to tell.
Baldwin is still responsible as producer and as the person who pointed the firearm and pulled the trigger.
I’ll believe Baldwin is sincerely contrite when he signs over all residuals, etc, from his previous movies to his victim’s family. Anything else is just talk from an actor.
I do agree that he should never make another movie.
He was trying to flirt with her. He probably assumed since he was star and she was from eastern Europe that he could get some on location side action.
Actually, you could easily see it from the front. And no, it does NOT require pointing the gun at your face. Also, unless you are going to shoot it - and not before then - you could do it ALL with an unloaded gun. You could also do everything he needed to do WITHOUT PULLING BACK THE HAMMER.
But yes, he could have easily checked both for ammo and for blanks.
He has the responsibility for the death. He is trying to get out of it. I have no respect for him.
There are numerous videos on YouTube now of people with Colt revolvers or Pietta (sp?) revolvers just like the one Mr. Baldwin negligently discharged. (the best I've seen is the USCCA one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lImxZbBaaSM&t=441s)
They all prove one thing: it is nearly impossible to fire a Colt SA the way Mr. Baldwin says he fired it. The only way to make it fire the way Mr. Baldwin claims it fired is if the weapon has been modified or damaged. Any competent gunsmith will be able to determine that in a matter of minutes with the firearm. So, I wonder how much pull Baldwin and his cronies have with whatever LE agency has the firearm? Can they get them to switch it with a modified one, or change out the parts to support Baldwin's story?
