He was the token Republican to run a hopeless shot against Clinton. Similar to Romney/McCain on the hopeless scale, but at Dole seemed way more decent. RIP

Did Bob Dole announce “Bob Dole has died”?

Another in a quickly dwindling list of WWII vets to pass. A very decent man who’s political weakness was trying to play nice with the left.

I think I’ll go over to the Bob Dole Center here on campus and sign the book.

I think the best thing going for Bob Dole is that Bob Dole keeps his word. -- Bob Dole

You can't have a better endorsement than that.

Bobdole! Bobdole! Bobdole!

I actually thought he was going to win in 1996.

I've grown up a little since then.

He was a good soldier who served honorably and like so many of his peers, his generation etc. he moved into the world of politics to serve that system for better or worse.

Politics is where there is compromise and moderation by tradition.

To many of us such compromise and moderation was to the detriment of the nation not its betterment.

RIP Bob Dole.

He supported Trump much more than any of the other GOP presidents and presidential candidates.

It was “his turn” in 1996. I’m glad Trump destroyed that culture as a winning outsider. They told us it had to be BobDole (spoken as one word) since only he was “electable.” He got bashed for his age and he was what 73? And creepy Joe is much older. His wife was the star at that convention in my old home town of San Diego. I’ll agree with Bob “where’s the outrage?” But Clinton fatigue hasn’t set in yet. RIP.

Dole was one of the few establishment Trumpers, but like the establishment, he bailed out and didn’t believe there was The Steal.

I met him in Miami Beach in 1972 at the Republican National Convention when he was party chairman. He was one of my political heroes then. And still.

RIP. Besides his other accomplishments he was the driving force to have the World War II monument built in DC.
