RIP. Besides his other accomplishments he was the driving force to have the World War II monument built in DC.

By chance I saw him in 2016 in a wheelchair at some ceremony at the WWII memorial in DC. It was a cold day in November and I was just doing a routine walk of the four mile Mall circuit. Didn’t see him speak, but watched a couple of speakers, took some pics and moved on.

Senator Bob Dole was a good man, wish there were more people like him. Our sympathy goes to his lovely accomplished wife, Elizabeth Dole. RIP Bob Dole.
