Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” called for a national safe storage law when reacting to James and Jennifer Crumbley being charged with involuntary manslaughter after their son 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley was charged for terrorism and murder in the school shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan.

Hay Murph, up your biden.
Another idiot that’s never had a job, speaks to the rest of us that work our asses off every day.
The school blew it big league...They tired to blame the parents for not taking the kid home when it was the school who allowed the suspect back into class, totally failing to suspend him until counseling and or investigation into this kid.
No enumerated power given the federal government to enact such a rule or regulation where any jurisdiction of a State is concerned.
Have at it in DC or the Territories, though. Just be sure to hold minority parents or illegal aliens responsible! Not just white parents or citizens.
99.999% of gun owners use good practices. There is no need for another law. These parents in MI are being charged for stupidity.
“Just be sure to hold minority parents or illegal aliens responsible! Not just white parents or citizens.”
I was pondering that just last night, I wonder how many minority parents have been similarly charged for the lawless actions of their children?
I may be wrong, but I am guessing not many.
Perhaps along with a new bureaucracy to go house to house and check on the storage conditions? The Swiss did something like this when they required men/reservists to store their battle rifles at home...but not really. Absolutely unworkable on a national level. Oh, and what states really have an idea of what guns are where?
Just watch, the victims parents will go after the deep pockets school in this case, and they’ll win big. The school is as much to blame as the parents, and even more so.
Only white parents are expected to be good parents?

Too many dictatorial politicians.
You have to lock up your gun so no one has access to them. And be sure to throw away the keys.
What say we “store” Murray in a pickle barrel somewhere?
Safe gun storage is a good thing. A federal law however could easily metamorphize into federal gun safe inspections based on gun purchase records.
here it comes
this was the point of charging the parents
they are not going to check
but if the kid does something illegal they can go after the parents
scare everybody into locking up their guns making them ineffective for self defense
Would this law also apply to inner city kids? Didn’t think so…
